Is the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse a good car?

Yes — the 4.93/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, smooth ride, and powerful performance, and they also like the comfort and handling in challenging weather conditions. That lines up well with the Traverse’s family-focused mission: you get a roomy three-row SUV with everyday usability, good outward visibility, and easy-to-use technology. With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse reliable?

Owners rate it 4.93/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on comfort, smooth driving, and confidence in varied weather. That said, some shoppers mention concerns about body damage, so condition matters a lot on the used market. For long-term ownership, you should focus on well-documented examples with clean history and consistent maintenance.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Chevrolet Traverse?

At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Then prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, paint match, alignment, and signs of previous collision work. Because this model is valued for space and family use, you should also pay close attention to interior wear, cargo-area condition, and how well the cabin features still function.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Chevrolet Traverse?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,591 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,013, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Chevrolet Traverse's resale value?

The current average of $19,026 sits slightly below last year's $22,596.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more price pressure if the trend continues. If you buy at the right number now, you may have less downside risk later than someone who paid closer to the prior-year average. Strong demand for roomy family SUVs can help support values, especially when the vehicle has been well kept and presents cleanly.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.93/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Chevrolet Traverse or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.93/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $21,296, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $19,026 average.
• It adds a broader trim lineup and updated connectivity.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model year and a wider trim spread, the 2021 is the better secondary path for shoppers who want to compare options before buying.
