Used 2020 Cadillac CT4 for Sale nearChicago, IL

How much does the 2020 Cadillac CT4 cost?

Prices have softened 3.51% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 198 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 Cadillac CT4 a good car?

Generally — the 2020 Cadillac CT4 earns 4/5 from owners and 6.3/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

You get a compact luxury sedan that was built to feel more athletic than plush, with a rear-drive layout, multiple powertrain options, and a low starting price. The trade-off is that the car is described as lacking refinement, and the value proposition is weakened by a thin layer of polish over an older platform.

Fairly pedestrian performance and poor value for money are the biggest knocks from our review team. Even so, if you want a small luxury sedan with personality and strong tech, the CT4 fits that brief better than it does the traditional comfort-first one.

34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 Cadillac CT4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CT4 is presented as a rear-drive luxury sedan with balanced architecture and enjoyable driving dynamics, but its standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine is called out for hurting refinement. That matters because a car can feel quick and capable while still wearing on you over time if the powertrain is noisy or unpolished.

The available 2.7-liter turbo four-cylinder adds more power, and the review notes that the CT4’s chassis can be genuinely rewarding when you lean into it. If you’re shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a car whose appeal depends heavily on trim and equipment rather than on a uniformly polished base package.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Cadillac CT4?

At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-trim car with more optional equipment. Pay close attention to condition, because the CT4’s value equation depends heavily on whether the car has the features and upkeep that make it feel worth the money.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The CT4 is offered in standard Luxury trim, with Premium Luxury, Sport, and V-Series above it. The base trim lacks the added equipment that helps the car feel more complete, while the higher trims bring more of the features and hardware that better match the car’s personality.
• Powertrain: The standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder is also available with up to 325 hp and 380 lb-ft. The review also notes that the base engine can feel unrefined, so powertrain choice matters a lot.
• Safety package: The CT4 comes without standard advanced driver-assistance systems. Forward-collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection require an upgrade to Premium Luxury, Sport, or V-Series, and the Driver Awareness Plus Package and Driver Assist Package are needed to get the full set of features. The test car had lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot and lane-change warning, rear cross-traffic warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and a Safety Alert seat.
• Infotainment: The CT4 uses an 8.0-inch touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus natural voice recognition and Cadillac Connected Services. The system also supports wireless smartphone charging, and additional tech such as a head-up display and a larger driver information display is available through a Technology Package.
• Fuel efficiency: The review says the CT4 averaged 25.5 mpg over a test drive and came up just short of its official 26 mpg combined rating.

Which 2020 Cadillac CT4 trim should I buy?

The 2020 Cadillac CT4 is offered in 4 trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, Sport, V-Series.

Here's the short version:

• Luxury: This is the entry point, and it makes the CT4’s low starting price the easiest to access. It suits you if you want the basic rear-drive luxury-sedan formula and plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• Premium Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want the CT4 to feel more complete. It adds the kind of equipment that better matches the car’s upscale ambitions, and it’s the trim used in the review car with added comfort and convenience features.
• Sport: Choose this if you want the firmer setup and the more driver-focused character. The review notes that the Sport trim gets stiffer tuning and performance-oriented hardware that should better suit enthusiastic driving.
• V-Series: This is the trim for you if you want the most performance-focused CT4. It adds the most aggressive chassis tuning and the strongest hardware mentioned in the review, making it the right pick if driving feel matters most.

For safety equipment, remember that forward-collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection require stepping up from the base trim, and the full ADAS set needs additional packages beyond that.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Cadillac CT4?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 198 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.51% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,855, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Cadillac CT4's resale value?

The current average of $24,408 sits slightly below last year's $25,297.

That softer pricing suggests the CT4 has already moved into a more buyer-friendly part of its depreciation curve. If you buy well now, you may avoid some of the sharper early depreciation that hits many luxury cars.

For a future seller, the key will be condition and equipment. A CT4 with the right trim, strong maintenance history, and desirable features should be easier to move than a bare-bones example, especially because the model’s appeal depends so much on how well it’s equipped.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 Cadillac CT4 safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The CT4 comes without any standard advanced driver-assistance systems, so you need to move up from the base trim if you want forward-collision warning or low-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. The test car had lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot and lane-change warning, rear cross-traffic warning, automatic high-beam headlights, and a Safety Alert seat, but it still lacked adaptive cruise control, all-speed automatic forward emergency braking, and a rear emergency braking system.

That means you should pay close attention to which trim and packages a used CT4 has before you buy. If safety tech matters to you, the right configuration is a major part of the value equation.

Should I buy a 2020 Cadillac CT4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.51% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 CT4 stands out for its multiple powertrain options, impressive technology, and low base price, even though advanced safety features are not standard.

The bottom line: If you want the lowest entry price and don’t mind shopping carefully for the right trim and equipment, the 2020 is the better value play. If you want a newer CT4 with more standard safety tech and easier day-to-day usability, a later model year is the smarter path for price-sensitive buyers who can stretch a bit.
