Is the 2020 BMW X6 a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2020 BMW X6 stands out because it leans hard into style and performance rather than practicality, with a coupe-like shape, a more aggressive look, and a luxury-performance focus. It also brings strong power, upscale equipment, and capability, including available all-wheel drive hardware and a towing rating of 7,200 pounds. If you want a distinctive luxury SUV that prioritizes presence and driving character over maximum utility, this model fits that use case well. 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 BMW X6 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2020 BMW X6 is presented as a well-equipped luxury performance SUV with substantial hardware and a strong feature set, which supports confidence if you maintain it properly. Its upscale equipment and performance focus suggest you should expect ownership to reward attentive maintenance rather than casual neglect. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a high-end, performance-oriented SUV can become expensive if prior care was inconsistent.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW X6?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with the history report to confirm accident status, title history, and service records. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the condition of the drivetrain, suspension, electronics, and any luxury features that may be costly to repair. Because this model is a style-first, performance-oriented SUV, you should pay close attention to signs of hard use, uneven wear, and any evidence that maintenance was deferred.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW X6?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 284 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.35% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 77.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $38,271, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW X6's resale value?

The current average of $38,271 sits slightly below last year's $43,173.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the model more approachable for you as a buyer but may also mean future resale gains are limited unless the vehicle is especially well kept. For a seller, the best defense against further depreciation is strong condition, clean history, and documentation of maintenance. Because this model is a premium, style-driven SUV, buyers will still respond to examples that look and feel well preserved.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW X6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 36.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 77.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.35% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line:

If you want the X6’s distinctive styling, strong performance, and upscale equipment, the 2020 is a compelling choice, especially if you find a clean example with a fair price and documented history. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a different year may be worth considering, but the 2020 remains the better fit when you want the model’s core appeal without paying peak pricing.
