Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW X5?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2020 BMW X5's resale value?

The current average of $27,366 sits slightly below last year's $31,094.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point now. For a future seller, the softer current pricing means resale upside may depend more on condition, mileage, and maintenance history than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still benefit from steady demand in the luxury SUV segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW X5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $24,932, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $27,366 average.
• It introduced BMW’s redesigned, more modern X5 package.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $31,707, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $27,366 average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid option and a more family-friendly feel.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around pick if you want a strong mix of value, owner satisfaction, and available inventory. If your priority is spending less, the 2019 is the better price-first alternative. If you want newer features and are willing to pay more, the 2021 is the more upscale path.
