Used 2020 BMW M5 for Sale nearDallas, TX

Is the 2020 BMW M5 a good car?

The 2020 BMW M5 is a strong choice if you want a high-performance luxury sedan that still works as an everyday car. According to the overview, it combines serious speed with usable all-weather capability, thanks to its twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, eight-speed automatic transmission, and rear-biased xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

It also picked up digital instrumentation and standard wireless smartphone charging for 2020, which helps modernize the cabin without changing the car’s core mission. The performance numbers are a major part of the appeal: 600 hp, 553 lb-ft of torque, about 3.3 seconds to 60 mph, and an available 190 mph top speed.

For shoppers who want supercar-level pace in a sedan format, the 2020 M5 is one of the more distinctive options in its class. The market also shows 29.0% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 BMW M5 reliable?

The 2020 BMW M5 is described as relatively new, with no major reported problem areas or concerns. That makes it a more reassuring pick than many high-performance used cars, especially if you want modern technology and strong performance in one package.

At the same time, the overview makes clear that this is still a high-performance machine with the usual need for careful ownership. For a used buyer, the long-term risk is less about a known widespread defect and more about the cost and consequences of neglected, abused, or modified examples.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW M5?

At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a full vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has had any collision damage, insurance claims, or title issues. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a shop that understands high-performance BMWs, since condition matters a lot more than mileage alone on a car like this.

Focus especially on signs of hard use, poor maintenance, or aftermarket modifications, because the overview specifically warns that neglected, abused, or modified examples are best avoided. A clean, well-documented car is the safer path here.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW M5?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and willing to compare examples carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
• Clean inventory: 64.1% of listings are accident-free.

That mix suggests you have enough inventory to be choosy, but not so much that you can ignore condition or pricing. If you find a clean, well-kept car at a fair price, now is a reasonable time to move.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW M5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

The bottom line:

The 2020 BMW M5 is the right path if you want the blend of speed, all-weather traction, and everyday usability described in the overview, especially with its updated cabin tech for the year. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
