How much does the 2020 BMW M4 cost?

Prices are up 8.56% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 161 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2020 BMW M4 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2020 BMW M4 stands out as a compact performance coupe and convertible that blends serious speed with everyday usability, and it delivers that balance with rear-wheel drive, a twin-turbo inline-six, and available manual or automatic transmissions. It also brings a generous standard feature set, including leather upholstery, climate control, LED headlights, and 18-inch alloy wheels, while still keeping the hard-edged M Division character buyers expect.

That mix makes it a strong fit if you want a performance car that still feels usable day to day. 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 BMW M4 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The 2020 BMW M4 is described as a high-end performance car with serious capability, and it comes with the kind of M hardware that supports confident driving, including an Active M Differential and standard M compound brakes. It is also presented as well equipped and broadly capable, which helps reinforce its appeal as a premium used performance car.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a car like this may have been driven hard, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 BMW M4?

At 68.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether the car has had any collision repairs or title issues. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention on signs of hard use, wear, and maintenance quality. Because this is a high-performance model, condition should matter more to you than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 BMW M4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting deep discounts across the board.

• Deal availability: 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 161 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.56% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 68.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $49,849, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 BMW M4's resale value?

The current average of $56,242 sits slightly above last year's $51,808.

That upward move suggests the market has been willing to pay more for this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the car in strong condition. The relatively tight spread between the year-round low and high also suggests pricing can move quickly when a clean example appears. If you maintain the car carefully and keep records, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 BMW M4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 34.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 8.56% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $65,045, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $56,242 average.
• It emphasizes a more driver-focused experience with a manual transmission and sharper enthusiast appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2020 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid deal availability. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model and a more enthusiast-focused setup, the 2021 is the better secondary path.
