How much does the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle cost?

Prices are up 5.94% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 258 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Drivers consistently praise its fun driving experience, stylish design, and impressive features. The roomy interior and strong handling also come through in owner feedback, especially for the convertible. If you want a compact car with personality, useful space, and a retro-modern feel, this model year fits that use case well.

With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable and enjoyable to live with, with praise centered on its fun driving character, handling, and overall ownership experience. That said, the broader model-year guidance notes that reliability is not a standout strength, so you should treat condition and maintenance history as especially important.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a car that has been poorly maintained or already showing wear in key mechanical areas.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Volkswagen Beetle?

At 62.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize cars with clean records and consistent service documentation. A pre-purchase inspection matters here, especially if you are comparing multiple listings with similar prices. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and how well the car has been maintained over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volkswagen Beetle?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 258 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.94% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 62.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,420, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle's resale value?

The current average of $25,714 sits slightly above last year's $24,272.

That price movement suggests the market has held up reasonably well, which can help support resale confidence if you buy at the right price. Because values are already above last year’s level, a well-kept example may be easier to move later than a neglected one. Strong condition and clean history should matter a lot if you want to protect your exit value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Beetle or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.94% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $19,981, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $25,714 average.
• It adds a final-year refresh and special-edition appeal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the stronger current-market choice and are willing to pay more for it. If your priority is saving money, the 2018 is the better value path, especially if you want a Beetle with distinctive final-year character at a lower entry price.
