How much does the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle cost?

Prices are up 5.20% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 248 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Drivers consistently praise its fun driving experience, stylish design, and impressive features. They also call out its spacious interior and excellent handling, especially in the convertible model. For you, that means this Beetle fits best if you want a compact car with personality, useful space, and a more premium-feeling cabin than its retro shape might suggest.

Only 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you may need to shop carefully to find the best value.

Is the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a car that feels fun, stylish, and enjoyable to live with, while also pointing to a model that many drivers feel good about over time. That said, the broader model-year guidance notes that engines and timing chains can be problematic, so you should treat reliability as something to verify rather than assume.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable only if you prioritize maintenance history and mechanical condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Volkswagen Beetle?

At 63.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of past collision work, then make sure the car drives cleanly and feels mechanically sound. Because this model year can have engine and timing-chain concerns, a pre-purchase inspection is especially worthwhile.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Volkswagen Beetle?

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 248 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.20% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 63.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $22,410, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Volkswagen Beetle's resale value?

The current average of $25,702 sits slightly above last year's $24,432.

That upward move suggests the market is still willing to pay for this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy well and keep the car in good condition. The relatively tight spread between the year-round low and high also suggests pricing discipline, so clean examples should remain easier to move later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Volkswagen Beetle or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.20% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $19,650, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $25,702 average.
• It serves as the final-year Beetle with a notable mechanical refresh.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall market signal and are comfortable paying more, the 2019 is the better primary target. If your priority is saving money and you like the Beetle’s final-year character, the 2018 is the smarter price-sensitive alternative.
