Used 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid for Sale near Wisconsin

How much does the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid cost?

Prices are up 1.96% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 977 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid a good car?

Generally — 4.38/5 from owners, and 8.5/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the strong fuel economy, the performance, and the comfortable interior. The overview also points to excellent value for money and a stylish, more rugged look that gives the hybrid more personality than a typical commuter SUV.

The trade-offs are clear: the tech feels outdated, and the interior can seem underwhelming for the price. Even so, the RAV4 Hybrid is framed as a practical, appealing choice for shoppers who want efficiency and everyday usefulness in a hybrid SUV.

Only 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the best examples may require quick action.

Is the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 4.38/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as dependable and trouble-free, with strong confidence in its hybrid system and overall ownership experience. The expert notes also point to Toyota’s hybrid battery setup as proven after 20-plus years and several million Toyota hybrids sold, which reinforces the sense that this is a system built for the long haul.

ToyotaCare adds the first two service visits and roadside assistance, which helps reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the hybrid hardware and more about finding a well-kept example with consistent maintenance history.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

At 72.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, alignment, and repair quality. Focus on condition details that can reveal whether the vehicle was maintained well, especially if you are comparing similarly priced listings. A pre-purchase inspection is worth it if you want to separate clean, well-kept examples from repaired ones.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XSE stands out with sport-tuned dampers and springs, glossy black exterior trim, and 18-inch wheels, while the cabin adds blue stitching, padded surfaces, and snug front seats. The base trim is less richly equipped, so you should compare comfort and appearance features carefully if you want the best value.
• Powertrain: The hybrid system pairs a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors and a 1.6-kilowatt battery for 219 horsepower. It is described as quiet, seamless, and reliable, with strong around-town drivability and excellent fuel economy.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense comes standard with forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, traffic-sign recognition, and auto high beams. Rear emergency braking is optional, so check whether a listing includes that extra protection.
• Infotainment: The system uses a touchscreen with clear menus, swipe and pinch gestures, and customizable shortcuts. Apple CarPlay is standard, but Android Auto is not, and the maps and connected-app setup feel dated.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates it at 41 mpg city, 38 mpg highway, and 40 mpg combined, and the expert test returned 36 mpg over 400 mostly highway miles.

Which 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is offered in 4 trim levels: LE, XLE, XSE, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the hybrid’s core efficiency and standard safety equipment at the lowest price. It is the trim to target if you care most about value and can live without the extra comfort and style upgrades.
• XLE: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience without pushing pricing as high as the upper trims. If you want the most balanced mix of equipment and cost, this is the one to focus on first.
• XSE: This is the standout choice if you want the sportier look and the best driving feel. It adds the more aggressive appearance, sport-tuned suspension, and the features that make the hybrid feel more special.
• Limited: This is the trim to consider if you want the most upscale version and are willing to pay for it. It suits buyers who want the most premium-feeling RAV4 Hybrid rather than the sharpest value.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard across the lineup, so you get a strong baseline of driver assistance even on lower trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting deep discounts everywhere.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 977 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.96% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 72.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,312, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $25,531 sits slightly above last year's $25,040.

That upward move suggests the market still sees value in this hybrid SUV, especially given its strong fuel economy and broad appeal. For a future seller, that kind of pricing stability can help support a healthier resale position if the vehicle is kept in good condition.

The fact that prices are holding near the top of the yearly range also suggests buyers are still willing to pay for clean examples. If your RAV4 Hybrid has a strong service history and good cosmetic condition, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.38/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid safe?

The 2019 RAV4 Hybrid earns four-star ratings in driver-side frontal crash and rollover, and five-star ratings in all other NHTSA tests. It also earned the IIHS top Good rating in all six crash tests, though low headlight scores kept it from a Top Safety Pick.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense comes standard, including forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, traffic-sign recognition, and auto high beams. A front passenger seat cushion airbag and a driver’s knee airbag are also standard, which adds another layer of protection.

One caveat is that rear emergency braking is optional, so you should check whether a specific listing includes it. The headlight result is also worth noting if you often drive at night.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices are up 1.96% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.38/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 stands out for its tougher, more rugged styling and strong value positioning.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $26,825, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $25,531 average.
• It adds standard all-wheel drive, a roomy passenger compartment, and excellent fuel economy.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the smarter target because it combines strong efficiency, good owner satisfaction, and a lower average price. If you are willing to spend more for the next model year’s broader standard equipment and slightly newer package, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative.
