Used 2019 Toyota 4Runner for Sale nearJacksonville, FL

How much does the 2019 Toyota 4Runner cost?

Prices have softened 1.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,974 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2019 Toyota 4Runner a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Toyota 4Runner earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, smooth ride, and spacious interior, and many also highlight its off-road capability and comfort. The trade-offs are familiar: outdated technology and poor fuel economy. That makes it a strong fit if you want a rugged SUV with proven capability and everyday usability, especially if you value durability and cargo space over modern tech. With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities in the market.

Is the 2019 Toyota 4Runner reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to reliability, and reviewers also describe it as dependable and trouble-free over time. The expert evaluation reinforces that impression by emphasizing proven components and a drivetrain that works together to support towing and off-road use. The ownership trade-off is that long-term running costs can be higher than you might expect, especially once fuel and insurance are part of the equation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota 4Runner?

At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of bodywork, underbody condition, and signs of prior repair. Because this SUV is often used for trail duty, pay close attention to wear that could come from hard use rather than just mileage. Focus on how the vehicle has been maintained and whether its condition matches the seller’s description.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SR5 is the most basic version, with 17-inch alloy wheels, skid plates, tinted rear and side windows, and a power up/down rear window. The SR5 Premium adds heated side mirrors, heated front seats, SofTex upholstery, a power front passenger seat, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium add more trail-focused hardware, while the Limited shifts toward curb appeal with chrome accents and a more upscale cabin. The TRD Pro is the most ruggedly equipped version.
• Powertrain: Every 2019 4Runner uses a 4.0-liter V6 with 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 5-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard on some trims, with 4WD available, and the setup is built around proven durability rather than efficiency.
• Safety package: The 4Runner comes with airbags, traction control, and a reversing camera, but advanced driver-assistance features are not standard. That gap is especially noticeable on lower trims.
• Infotainment: The system is basic, and you won’t find Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Higher trims can add Entune Premium Audio with Navigation, but the overall tech setup is still dated.
• Fuel efficiency: The 4Runner returns 17 mpg city and 21 mpg highway in RWD form, while 4WD versions return 17 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.

Which 2019 Toyota 4Runner trim should I buy?

The 2019 Toyota 4Runner is offered in 6 trim levels: SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited, and TRD Pro.

Here's the short version:

• SR5: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core 4Runner experience with the least equipment. It works if you want the rugged basics and plan to keep costs down, but it is pretty bare bones.
• SR5 Premium: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it adds heated front seats, SofTex upholstery, heated mirrors, and Entune Premium Audio with Navigation. It fills in several comfort and convenience gaps without moving too far up the price ladder.
• TRD Off-Road: Choose this if you want the most trail-focused hardware, including a locking rear differential, Multi-Terrain Select, and crawl control. It gives up some comfort features, so it makes the most sense if off-road use matters most.
• TRD Off-Road Premium: This is the sweet spot for buyers who want the off-road gear but also want more comfort. It brings back premium touches and adds a power moonroof.
• Limited: This trim is aimed more at appearance and comfort, with chrome accents, 20-inch wheels, leather upholstery, heated and cooled front seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
• TRD Pro: This is the most capable-looking and most trail-oriented version, with upgraded suspension, skid plates, and all-terrain tires.

The safety content makes clear that advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, so you should verify equipment carefully on any trim you consider.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota 4Runner?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,974 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.88% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,371, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Toyota 4Runner's resale value?

The current average of $31,524 sits slightly below last year's $32,129.

That modest decline suggests the market has softened, but not dramatically. For a future seller, that means the 4Runner is holding value reasonably well relative to its recent history, especially for a vehicle with strong demand among buyers who want off-road capability. If pricing stays near the current average, you should still have a workable resale position as long as the vehicle is clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Toyota 4Runner safe?

The 2019 Toyota 4Runner earns four-star ratings overall from NHTSA, with three-star ratings in rollover testing.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The safety equipment is limited by modern standards: you get airbags, traction control, and a reversing camera, but not the advanced driver-assistance features many newer SUVs include. That shortcoming is especially important if you are comparing it with newer alternatives or expecting a more comprehensive safety package. If safety tech matters to you, verify exactly what is and is not included on the trim you are considering.

Should I buy a 2019 Toyota 4Runner or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the proven, off-road-first formula that defines this generation.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $34,721, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $31,524 average.
• It adds standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the lower price and can live with the 2019’s older tech and limited safety equipment, this year makes sense. If you want more standard safety content and are willing to pay more, the 2020 is the better fit.
