How much does the 2019 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 9.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,758 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 4.73/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, powerful engine, and spacious, well-appointed interior. The truck also gets credit for feeling refined and comfortable for daily driving, with a cabin that feels more upscale than basic.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and some owners wanted better build quality. That matters most if you want a truck that can do commuting and weekend work while still feeling polished.

The model’s 33.4% good or great deal rate suggests there are still worthwhile listings to find.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, with praise for its smooth ride, powerful engine, and spacious interior. The overall tone suggests buyers can count on it for everyday use, especially if they value comfort and usability over a stripped-down work-truck feel.

The expert review also emphasizes a smooth, composed driving experience and strong everyday manners, which supports the case for solid day-to-day dependability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure prior use and maintenance history are clean.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 RAM 1500?

At 68.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the truck’s equipment matches the trim level you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tradesman is the work-truck setup with heavy-duty shock absorbers, a five-link coil-spring rear suspension, black bumpers, 18-inch steel wheels, a Class III trailer hitch, and a 5-inch touchscreen. Big Horn adds chrome accents, 18-inch cast-aluminum wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, and steering-wheel-mounted radio controls. Rebel adds a more aggressive grille, fender flares, an electronically locking differential, upgraded shock absorbers, dark accents, a sport performance hood, and skid plates. Laramie adds power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, upgraded LED taillights, a 7-inch TFT instrument panel, remote keyless entry, LED ambient interior lighting, driver’s seat memory, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, and leather seating with heated front seats. Longhorn adds a spray-in bedliner, chrome exterior details, chrome side steps, a power-release tailgate, 20-inch cast-aluminum wheels, wood interior inserts, a full center console with sliding middle tray, and premium interior door trim panels. Limited adds 20-inch two-tone wheels, the Active-Level four-corner air suspension, power-extending running boards, upgraded wood accents, premium leather front bucket seats, and heated/ventilated front and rear seats.
• Powertrain: The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 with eTorque, rated at 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque, while the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 makes 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque and can also be paired with eTorque. Power goes through an 8-speed automatic transmission to rear-wheel drive or available 4-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a full array of airbags, an electronic parking brake, integrated trailer-sway control, trailer braking control, traction control, hill-start assist, and a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim. Other available driver aids include forward-collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, dynamic cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: The truck offers a 5-inch touchscreen on the Tradesman, while higher trims can get an 8.4-inch screen or a massive 12-inch portrait touchscreen. The system uses Uconnect software, and the larger screen layout is customizable.
• Fuel efficiency: The conventional V8 with 4WD returns 15 mpg city, 21 highway, and 17 combined. Rear-wheel drive does 22 mpg highway.

Which 2019 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2019 RAM 1500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the most work-focused choice, with the standard heavy-duty hardware, trailer hitch, and basic 5-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the truck and care more about utility than comfort.
• Big Horn: This adds a more polished look, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, and more convenience features while staying close to the practical side of the lineup. It’s the best-value pick if you want a nicer daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Rebel: This trim adds the most distinctive character, with an aggressive grille, fender flares, locking differential, upgraded shocks, and skid plates. It suits you best if you want a more rugged-looking truck with a stronger off-road-oriented setup.
• Laramie: This is the comfort-focused sweet spot, with leather seating, heated front seats, memory settings, ambient lighting, and a richer cabin presentation. It’s the trim to target if you want the best balance of luxury and everyday usability.
• Longhorn: This trim leans into upscale materials and convenience, adding a spray-in bedliner, chrome details, wood trim, a power-release tailgate, and a larger center console. Choose it if you want a more premium-feeling truck with strong feature content.
• Limited: This is the luxury flagship, with air suspension, premium leather, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, and power-extending running boards. It’s the right choice if you want the most comfort and the most equipment.

Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,758 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $24,114, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $24,114 sits slightly below last year's $26,658.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may temper future resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing environment means your return will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability.

Well-equipped trims with strong feature content should hold broader appeal than bare-bones trucks. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2019 RAM 1500 earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include a full array of airbags, an electronic parking brake, integrated trailer-sway control, trailer braking control, traction control, hill-start assist, and a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim, while forward-collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, dynamic cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors are available.

A key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to shop higher trims or specific option packages to get the driver-assistance tech you want.

Should I buy a 2019 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 redesign brings a more refined ride, stronger tech, and a more upscale cabin.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $27,794, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $24,114 average.
• The EcoDiesel returns for every trim, adding a diesel option across the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the smarter buy because pricing has eased and inventory is healthy. If diesel power matters to you, the 2020 is the better path, but you’ll pay more for that added engine choice.
