How much does the 2019 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 10.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 10,883 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 RAM 1500 earns a 4.7/5 user rating and an 8.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 10/10 across Performance and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, powerful engine, and spacious, well-appointed interior. They also point to the truck’s dependable feel and long-term satisfaction, which helps reinforce its appeal as a daily driver. The overview frames it as a pickup that works well for commuting as well as weekend duties, and that use-case fit is a big part of its appeal.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard, and some owners felt the ride could be slightly bumpy while build quality could be better. Even so, the truck’s strong comfort-and-capability balance makes it a compelling choice if you want a pickup that feels more refined than most.

There are 35.3% good or great deals in the market, which gives you a decent chance to find value.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, trouble-free, and easy to count on, especially thanks to its smooth ride and strong overall ownership experience. The expert driving notes also describe it as effortless to drive, with smooth everyday behavior and composed handling that support confidence over time.

The cost-effectiveness notes emphasize Ram’s attention to detail and the truck’s comfortable, versatile character, which can help ownership feel more satisfying. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that condition and maintenance history matter a lot, especially on trucks that may have been worked hard or optioned heavily.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 RAM 1500?

At 68% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has higher mileage or signs of heavy use. Focus on overall condition, because comfort, electronics, and suspension quality are central to this model’s appeal. If you’re comparing multiple listings, pay close attention to how well the truck has been maintained and whether its equipment matches the trim level you want.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tradesman is the work-focused starting point with a 5-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, and basic utility gear, while the Big Horn adds chrome accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, and more convenience. The Rebel brings a more aggressive look plus an electronically locking differential, upgraded shock absorbers, skid plates, and a sport performance hood, while the Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited move further into comfort and luxury with larger screens, leather, premium trim, and more upscale features.
• Powertrain: The base 3.6-liter V6 makes 305 horsepower and uses eTorque mild-hybrid integration, while the available 5.7-liter Hemi V8 also offers eTorque and stronger output. The truck uses an 8-speed automatic, and the V8 setup can tow up to 12,750 pounds when properly equipped.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes a full array of airbags, an electronic parking brake, trailer-sway control, trailer braking control, traction control, hill-start assist, and a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim, while forward-collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, dynamic cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors are optional.
• Infotainment: The truck offers a 5-inch touchscreen on the Tradesman, an optional 8.4-inch screen on higher trims, and a massive 12-inch portrait touchscreen on the Longhorn and Limited. All screens use Uconnect, and the system is described as responsive and easy to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The conventional V8 with 4WD returns 15 mpg city, 21 highway, and 17 combined, while rear-wheel drive improves highway mileage to 22 mpg.

Which 2019 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2019 RAM 1500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Rebel, Laramie, Longhorn, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the value-focused work truck, and it makes sense if you want the essentials without paying for luxury extras. It brings standard utility gear, a 5-inch touchscreen, and Bluetooth, but it’s also the trim where you’ll feel the biggest feature gaps versus the higher models.
• Big Horn: This is the best-value pick for many shoppers because it adds a more polished look and useful comfort upgrades without jumping too far up the price ladder. You get chrome accents, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, and more available packages, which makes it a smart middle ground.
• Rebel: Choose this if you want the most distinctive personality in the lineup. It adds a more aggressive grille, fender flares, an electronically locking differential, upgraded shock absorbers, skid plates, and a sport performance hood.
• Laramie: This is the comfort-oriented step up, with leather seating, heated front seats, driver’s seat memory, LED ambient lighting, and an upgraded instrument panel. It suits you if you want a more upscale daily driver without going all the way to the top trims.
• Longhorn: This trim leans hard into premium truck style, adding a spray-in bedliner, chrome details, wood interior inserts, a power-release tailgate, and a full center console. It’s a strong fit if you want luxury touches with real truck utility.
• Limited: This is the luxury flagship, with premium leather, heated and ventilated front and rear seats, power-extending running boards, and the available 12-inch touchscreen. It’s the right choice if you want the most comfort and the most features.

Safety-package note: blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 10,883 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,488, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $23,488 sits slightly below last year's $26,380.

That price drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, trim, and equipment rather than just model-year appeal. Trucks with desirable features and clean histories should hold buyer interest better than rougher examples.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 RAM 1500 safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes a full array of airbags, an electronic parking brake, integrated trailer-sway control, trailer braking control, traction control, hill-start assist, and a reversing camera with dynamic guidelines. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-path detection is standard on the Limited and optional on all but the Tradesman trim, while forward-collision mitigation, lane-departure warning, dynamic cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors are optional.

A key caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you may need to move up the trim ladder or add options to get the driver-assistance coverage you want.

Should I buy a 2019 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 redesign brings a more refined ride and a more upscale cabin.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $27,193, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $23,488 average.
• The EcoDiesel returns across the lineup, giving you a diesel option on any trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value and the redesigned truck experience, the 2019 is the stronger buy. If diesel availability matters more than price, the 2020 is worth the extra money.

How does the 2019 RAM 1500 compare to the 2019 Ford F-150?

Our experts score the 2019 RAM 1500 8.8/10 and the 2019 Ford F-150 8.2/10. The RAM feels more refined inside and delivers a smoother, more comfort-focused driving experience, while the Ford has the edge in city fuel economy and a larger pool of listings. If you want the more upscale daily driver, the RAM is the better fit; if you want a broader shopping pool and slightly better efficiency, the F-150 is worth a look.
