Used 2019 Nissan Maxima for Sale nearHomestead, FL

How much does the 2019 Nissan Maxima cost?

Prices have softened 8.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 515 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Nissan Maxima earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, stylish appearance, and comfortable interior. The review summary also points to good handling and plush leather seats, which fit the Maxima’s upscale, comfort-first personality.

The trade-offs are its outdated technology and potentially polarizing design. In practical terms, that means you’re looking at a sedan that suits you best if you want a premium-feeling daily driver more than the latest tech showcase.

The market shows 30.9% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as powerful, comfortable, and enjoyable to live with, and the review summary points to a car many owners feel good about keeping. The expert evaluation also emphasizes its solid reputation over the past three decades and its strong, dependable V6 character.

The powertrain is described as smooth and immediate, with traction control that keeps the front-wheel-drive setup from becoming unruly under hard acceleration. The cost-effectiveness review also notes that the Maxima remains a good value despite few changes for 2019.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a well-kept example matters more here than a neglected one, especially given the model’s age and mixed condition history in the market.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Nissan Maxima?

At 52.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. Because the market includes a sizable number of cars with incident history, condition matters as much as mileage and price.

Focus on how the car presents inside and out, since the Maxima’s appeal depends heavily on its premium feel and overall upkeep. It’s also worth checking that the technology and driver-assistance features work as expected, since those are part of the car’s value proposition.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S skips navigation, while higher trims add softer materials, upgraded interior details, and more upscale presentation.
• Powertrain: A 3.5-liter V6 with 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque is paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive, with fuel economy rated at 20 mpg city, 30 highway, and 24 combined.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-emergency braking, a driver-attention monitor, and knee airbags for both front occupants; the SV adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, the SR adds pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning, and Platinum models add reverse emergency braking.
• Infotainment: Most trims get an updated navigation system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a customizable home screen, and a high-speed USB-C port; the base S does not include navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The Maxima is rated at 20 mpg city, 30 highway, and 24 combined.

Which 2019 Nissan Maxima trim should I buy?

The 2019 Nissan Maxima is offered in 6 trim levels: S, SV, SL, SR, Platinum, Platinum Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it misses navigation, so it makes the most sense only if you want the lowest-cost way into the Maxima nameplate.
• SV: This is the best-value trim because it adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control while keeping the Maxima’s upscale interior feel and core tech features.
• SL: This trim builds on the SV with a more comfort-oriented setup, making it a good fit if you want a more premium daily driver.
• SR: Choose this if you want the sportier character, including the firmer ride and added pedestrian-detection and lane-departure warning features.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-leaning choice, adding reverse emergency braking and the most upscale presentation short of the top trim.
• Platinum Reserve: This is the most indulgent version, with semi-aniline saddle-colored leather, diamond quilting, and bronze-colored trim for the most premium cabin.

The safety package is strongest on the higher trims, while the SV stands out as the most balanced pick for most shoppers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Nissan Maxima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 515 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,749, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Nissan Maxima's resale value?

The current average of $16,869 sits slightly below last year's $18,488.

That decline suggests the Maxima has softened in the used market, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favorable if you’re thinking about future trade-in value. A lower current price can help you get more car for the money today, but it also means the model has already absorbed some depreciation.

For a future seller, that means condition and trim choice will matter a lot. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should be easier to move than rougher cars, especially in a market where shoppers can compare many listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima safe?

The Maxima is an IIHS Top Safety Pick and earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, with four-star ratings for the front-passenger side in a frontal crash and overall for the side-impact pole test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward-emergency braking, a driver-attention monitor, and knee airbags for both the driver and front passenger. The SV adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, the SR adds pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning, and Platinum models add reverse emergency braking.

One caveat is that the Maxima does not offer ProPilot Assist, so you won’t get Nissan’s semi-automated driving suite here.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Maxima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 refresh brought updated style, technology, and interior features.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $16,995, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $16,869 average.
• It adds a more spacious, comfort-focused feel with minimal changes after the 2019 refresh.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it already reflects the refreshed look and updated features while sitting at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay a bit more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the cleaner follow-up choice, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2019.
