Is the 2019 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating, and it lines up with the Frontier’s appeal as a value-focused, comfortable, and rugged pickup. Is the 2019 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as rugged and reliable, and many say it feels dependable for everyday use and basic work-truck duties. The recurring theme is that it does the job without drama, which is exactly what many used-truck shoppers want. For long-term ownership, that generally points to manageable risk if you choose a well-kept example.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Nissan Frontier?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection so you can catch hidden body, frame, or repair issues. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of hard use, since this truck’s value depends heavily on how it was treated. If a listing looks unusually cheap, make sure the condition supports the price.

What is the 2019 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $18,308 sits slightly below last year's $19,465.

That softer pricing suggests the Frontier is already in a more buyer-friendly position, which can help future resale if you buy at the right price. Because the market has eased, your best resale outcome will depend on choosing a clean, well-documented truck and avoiding overpaying now. A lower entry price can help protect you later if you decide to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,683, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,308 average.
• It adds a brand-new engine and transmission.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer powertrain, the 2020 is the better secondary path for buyers who prioritize that upgrade over price.
