How much does the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost?

Prices have softened 10.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 597 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class earns a 4.78/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, advanced technology, strong performance, craftsmanship, spacious interior, and safety features. In practical terms, that lines up well with a flagship sedan meant for buyers who want a high-end experience, standout tech, and a richly appointed cabin rather than a value play. With 33.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as dependable in the ways that matter most for a luxury flagship, especially when it comes to comfort, technology, and the overall ownership experience. The recurring praise for its long-term appeal suggests you can count on it to deliver the premium feel buyers expect from the nameplate. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the car’s reputation and more about how well a specific example has been maintained over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury sedan where repairs can be expensive if something has been overlooked. Focus on overall condition, service history, and how well the car’s technology and comfort features are working, since those are central to the ownership experience.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 597 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.23% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $40,213, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class's resale value?

The current average of $40,213 sits slightly below last year's $44,798.

That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face some pressure if prices continue to soften. If you buy well now, you may have less downside than someone who purchased when values were higher. The strongest resale prospects will likely come from well-kept examples with clean histories and desirable equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Mercedes-Benz S-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and flagship luxury features, the 2019 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can widen your search to nearby years and compare condition, history, and equipment closely, but the 2019 already gives you a compelling balance of value and desirability.
