Used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearJacksonville, FL

How much does the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 599 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a model with a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable driving experience, smooth ride, upscale interior features, performance, and handling. The overview also points to a refined, genuinely athletic character that feels more premium than many compact cars.

The main trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and cramped back seat. That means it makes the most sense if you value driving enjoyment and refinement more than maximum space or convenience.

With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a comfortable, smooth, and trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the car’s overall dependability and the way it holds up as a satisfying daily driver. The expert summary also frames it as a strong, well-rounded compact car that delivers quality beyond the usual budget-car baseline.

The performance write-up reinforces that impression by describing responsive acceleration, athletic handling, and composed ride quality. The cost-effectiveness notes also highlight strong value for the equipment you get, which helps support confidence in long-term ownership.

For used buyers, the biggest risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing a well-kept example with the right equipment and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3?

At 62.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a careful inspection of bodywork, interior condition, and any signs of prior repair. Because the car’s technology can be unintuitive and the back seat is cramped, it’s also worth making sure the features and packaging match your needs before you buy.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base sedan comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, push-button start, LED head- and taillights, an 8-speaker sound system, and the infotainment system, while the base hatchback adds 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, dual-zone automatic climate control, a drowsiness alert, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. The base hatchback is the better-equipped starting point, while the Select Sedan closes much of that gap.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 186 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The automatic AWD setup is a worthwhile tradeoff if you want extra traction.
• Safety package: Mazda’s i-Activsense suite includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and driver-attention alerts. It comes standard on the base hatchback, but not on the base sedan, where many of those features require the Select Sedan trim.
• Infotainment: The car uses an 8.8-inch MazdaConnect screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is remote-controlled rather than touch-operated, so you should test it yourself before buying.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient version returns 27 mpg city, 36 highway, 30 combined, while the least efficient version returns 24/32/27. Other versions include 25/33/28, 25/35/29, and 26/35/30.

Which 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 5 trim levels: base Sedan, Select Sedan, Preferred Sedan, Premium Sedan, and base Hatchback.

Here's the short version:

• base Sedan: This is the least expensive entry point, but it gives up some of the equipment that makes the hatchback more appealing. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable keeping things simple.
• Select Sedan: This is the better-value sedan choice because it closes much of the gap with the base hatchback and adds more of the useful equipment buyers are likely to want.
• Preferred Sedan: This trim adds an 8-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, power-adjustable side mirrors, satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system, making it a strong comfort-and-convenience step up.
• Premium Sedan: This is the most upscale sedan trim, with leather seats, a power moonroof, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and the manual transmission option. It suits you best if you want the most premium feel.
• base Hatchback: This is the CarGurus Recommended Trim and the best-value choice. It brings more standard equipment than the base sedan, including the safety suite, and delivers the strongest mix of style, features, and value.

The safety package is standard on the base hatchback, but many of those features require the Select Sedan trim on the sedan side.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 599 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,918, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $16,929 sits slightly above last year's $16,846.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed stable rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For you, that usually means fewer surprises if you decide to sell later, because the model’s pricing has shown consistency.

The steady trend also points to a used car that remains in demand without being overheated. If you buy well and keep the car in good condition, you should have a reasonable path to preserving value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s i-Activsense suite includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and driver-attention alerts. Those features are standard on the base hatchback, but not on the base sedan, where many of them require the Select Sedan trim.

One caveat is that the base sedan does not get the full standard safety package, so you should verify the exact trim before assuming the car has the driver-assistance features you want.

Should I buy a 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 redesign pushes the Mazda3 closer to near-luxury territory while keeping standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,506, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $16,929 average.
• It adds a more premium feel and easy-to-use technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of price stability, strong owner satisfaction, and a premium driving feel, the 2019 is the smarter starting point. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer model and want to compare the next year’s packaging, the 2020 is the secondary path.

How does the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 compare to the 2019 Honda Civic?

Our experts score the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 8/10 and the 2019 Honda Civic 7.8/10. The Mazda3 feels more upscale and more engaging to drive, while the Civic brings a lower starting price and more listings to shop from. If you care most about refinement and driving enjoyment, the Mazda3 has the edge; if you want broader inventory and a slightly cheaper entry point, the Civic is the easier value play.
