Used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 for Sale nearCincinnati, OH

How much does the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 597 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for shoppers to compare.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the comfortable driving experience, smooth ride, upscale interior features, and strong performance and handling. That lines up well with the overview: you’re looking at a compact car that feels refined and engaging rather than purely utilitarian.

The main trade-offs are its unintuitive technology and cramped back seat, so it fits you best if you value driving enjoyment and a premium feel more than maximum space or convenience. Even so, 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner summary points to a car that feels comfortable, smooth, and upscale, with performance and handling that owners appreciate over time. That kind of feedback often goes hand in hand with a dependable ownership experience when the car is maintained properly.

The expert evaluation also describes the Mazda3 as a solid commuter with composed ride quality, responsive acceleration, and athletic handling. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about making sure the car’s condition and maintenance history match its premium feel.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3?

At 62.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible cosmetic wear. Focus on how the car drives, how the electronics behave, and whether the cabin shows signs of harder use than the mileage suggests.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base sedan is lighter on content than the base hatchback, while the hatchback adds 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, dual-zone automatic climate control, a drowsiness alert, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. The base hatchback is the best-value starting point if you want more equipment without moving up the trim ladder.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with 186 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The automatic front-wheel-drive setup is the most efficient version mentioned.
• Safety package: Mazda’s i-Activsense suite includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and driver-attention alerts. It comes standard on the base hatchback, while the base sedan needs a step up to the Select Sedan for many of those features.
• Infotainment: The car uses an 8.8-inch MazdaConnect screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The system is controlled remotely rather than as a touchscreen, so you should test it yourself before buying.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient version returns 27 mpg city, 36 highway, 30 combined. Other versions range down to 24/32/27.

Which 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 is offered in 6 trim levels: base Sedan, Select Sedan, Preferred Sedan, Premium Sedan, base Hatchback, and Premium Hatchback.

Here's the short version:

• base Hatchback: This is the CarGurus Recommended Trim, and it gives you the strongest mix of value and equipment. You get 18-inch alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, automatic high beams, dual-zone automatic climate control, a drowsiness alert, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob, plus standard i-Activsense safety features.
• Select Sedan: Choose this if you want a sedan and want to close the equipment gap with the hatchback. It adds much of the content that makes the base hatchback feel better equipped, while keeping the sedan body style.
• Preferred Sedan: This trim adds an 8-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, power-adjustable side mirrors, satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system, making it a better fit if you want more comfort and audio upgrades.
• Premium Sedan: This is the step for you if you want the most upscale sedan experience. It adds leather seats, a power moonroof, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and the manual transmission option.
• Preferred Hatchback: This is the hatchback choice if you want more luxury touches than the base hatchback. It adds an 8-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, power-adjustable side mirrors, satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.
• Premium Hatchback: This is the most fully equipped version, with leather seats, a power moonroof, a head-up display, adaptive headlights, and the manual transmission option.

The base hatchback is the best-value trim, and the standard i-Activsense safety suite is a major reason to favor the hatchback over the base sedan.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Mazda MAZDA3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 597 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,924, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $16,931 sits slightly below last year's $17,034.

That small decline suggests the market has been fairly stable, which is helpful if you’re thinking about future resale. You’re not looking at a model that appears to be dropping sharply in value, so a well-kept example should remain relatively easy to price competitively later.

The steady pricing also means condition matters a lot. If you buy a clean, well-maintained car with desirable equipment, you’re more likely to preserve value than if you start with a rougher example.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 safe?

The 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s i-Activsense suite includes automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and driver-attention alerts. Those features are standard on the base hatchback, but not on the base sedan, so trim choice matters if safety equipment is a priority.

The safety story is strong overall, but you should still pay attention to the trim you’re considering because the base sedan does not get the same standard driver-assistance coverage as the base hatchback.

Should I buy a 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 redesign pushes the Mazda3 closer to near-luxury territory.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,386, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $16,931 average.
• It further emphasizes a premium feel and everyday usability.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter starting point because pricing is stable and owner satisfaction is strong. If you’re willing to pay more for a slightly newer example, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.

How does the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 compare to the 2019 Honda Civic?

Our experts score the 2019 Mazda MAZDA3 8/10 and the 2019 Honda Civic 7.8/10. The Mazda feels more upscale and more rewarding to drive, while the Civic leans more toward mainstream practicality and broader market availability. If you care most about refinement and driving enjoyment, the Mazda has the edge; if you want a more common used-car choice with a lower starting price, the Civic is still a strong alternative.
