CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Maserati Levante
overall

Summary
With 238 currently listed for sale and an average price of $25,371, 34.5% of 2019 Maserati Levantes for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Maserati Levante 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it a 7.5 / 10.
83.6% of 2019 Levante models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Maserati Levante stands out because it brings Maserati’s distinctive character to the SUV format. It is described as the Italian manufacturer’s first crossover, and its appeal is rooted in unique character, style, and special trimmings. The design is a clear strength, and the Levante’s multiple powertrain options give it added breadth for buyers who want a luxury performance SUV with a more individual personality than the norm.
That personality comes with tradeoffs. The Levante is presented as an imperfect choice, and its drawbacks include a cramped back seat, not much cargo space, and outdated technology. Even so, those limitations are part of what defines it: the 2019 Maserati Levante is aimed at buyers who value style and exclusivity enough to accept some practical compromises.

This is the most underrated vehicle in the market today. Shame on all the YouTube car reviewers. This vehicle is a sleeper. Not only is it beautiful to look at, it drives so smooth and has lots of power. I own a Trofeo and let me tell you, it blows the doors off its competition. It might not be techie for all the nerds out there, but it has more class and sexy appeal than any other automaker out there today.

Is the 2019 Maserati Levante a good car?
Yes — with a 5/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating, the 2019 Maserati Levante lands as a strong choice if you want a luxury performance SUV with a distinct personality. The Levante is framed as Maserati’s first crossover, and its appeal centers on unique character, style, and special trimmings rather than mainstream practicality.
The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The Levante is presented as an imperfect but appealing luxury SUV, and its reliability story is tied more to its character and engineering than to broad practicality. The expert evaluation highlights strong steering feel, solid braking, and a well-tuned ride in normal driving, all of which support confidence in day-to-day use.
Its performance hardware is described as hand-built and mechanically engaging, and the cabin materials are positioned as a major part of the ownership experience. If you buy used, the main long-term risk is that its exotic personality comes with higher ownership complexity than a more conventional SUV.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Maserati Levante?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a luxury SUV with expensive hardware and optional equipment. Focus on overall condition, signs of hard use, and whether the features you want were actually fitted on the specific vehicle you’re considering.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Levante’s appeal is tied to its style, special trimmings, and upscale interior materials, but the base setup is less richly appointed than higher-spec versions. If you want the more distinctive presentation, pay close attention to the trim and option content.
- Powertrain: The model offers multiple powertrain choices, including twin-turbo V6 and V8 setups paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The V6 is the starting point, while the higher-output versions are aimed at buyers who want more performance.
- Safety package: Driver-assistance systems are optional, including forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. Make sure the specific vehicle you’re shopping has the safety equipment you want.
- Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, along with USB ports, live traffic, and voice recognition for map searches. The system is good, but the broader tech suite is not class-leading, and some convenience features are missing.
- Fuel efficiency: The V6 returned 15 mpg in testing, with an EPA city rating of 15 mpg, 21 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined.
Which 2019 Maserati Levante trim should I buy?
The 2019 Maserati Levante is offered in 4 trim levels: Levante, S, GTS, Trofeo.
Here's the short version:
- Levante: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Levante’s core character, style, and standard all-wheel-drive performance without moving into the higher-output trims. It makes sense if you want the Maserati experience at the lowest starting price.
- S: This is the best-value trim to target because it adds the stronger V6 and is specifically recommended as the smart buy in the cost-effectiveness guidance. If you want the sweet spot between performance and price, this is the one to focus on.
- GTS: This trim steps up to a V8 and is aimed at buyers who want more power and a more serious performance edge. It suits you if the Levante’s personality matters, but you want a bigger performance reserve.
- Trofeo: This is the top-output version, with the most extreme powertrain in the lineup. It’s for you if you want the most exclusive and most powerful Levante, and price is secondary to maximum performance.
Driver-assistance systems are optional, so check whether the specific trim and vehicle you’re considering includes the safety features you want.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Maserati Levante?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and compare listings carefully.
- Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 240 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 83.8% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $25,304, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Maserati Levante's resale value?
The current average of $25,304 sits slightly below last year's $28,721.
That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current pricing trend implies you should expect a softer resale environment than last year’s.
The Levante’s exclusivity and distinctive appeal can still support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment. If you buy at the right price and maintain the vehicle carefully, you’ll be in a better position to protect value later.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Maserati Levante safe?
The Levante has not been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) since its 2017 debut.
It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.
Driver-assistance systems are optional, including forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. Because those features are not standard, you should confirm exactly what’s installed on the used example you’re considering.
Should I buy a 2019 Maserati Levante or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 83.8% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.90% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The year stands out for its distinctive character, style, special trimmings, and multiple powertrain options.
The bottom line: If you want the Levante’s most compelling mix of personality and market value, the 2019 is the one to focus on. It gives you the model’s signature style and performance character at a price that has softened meaningfully, which makes it the primary path for most shoppers. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping for the cleanest, best-equipped example rather than stretching for a newer or more expensive alternative.
