Is the 2019 Kia Sportage a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Kia Sportage earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, comfort, and spacious interior, and many also like the good handling and upscale feel. It fits well if you want a compact SUV that feels comfortable for daily driving and family use. Is the 2019 Kia Sportage reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also emphasizes that the Sportage feels dependable in everyday use, with many drivers describing it as a comfortable, trouble-free choice for regular commuting and family duty. That kind of long-term confidence matters when you are shopping used, because it suggests the vehicle has earned trust through real ownership experience. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about the model’s overall appeal and more about making sure a specific example has been cared for properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Kia Sportage?

At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if a listing looks unusually well priced. Put inspection priority on body condition, signs of prior repair, and anything that suggests the vehicle may have been in a collision. It is also smart to focus on how the cabin and ride feel in person, since comfort and refinement are major reasons shoppers choose this model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Kia Sportage?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,617 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,932, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Kia Sportage's resale value?

The current average of $12,945 sits slightly below last year's $14,064.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays competitive. If you buy at the right price now, you can reduce the risk of taking a bigger hit later. Strong condition and a clean history will matter more if you want to protect value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Kia Sportage or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• At 63.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a strong pick if you want a comfortable, well-liked compact SUV and you can verify condition carefully. If your priority is stretching your budget, this year’s softer pricing makes it especially worth considering; if you want the broadest pool of cleaner-history examples, you may also want to compare nearby years before deciding.
