Overview

While the Kia Cadenza has been around for nearly a decade, the second-generation Cadenza debuted for 2017. So the latest version carries over with minor updates, gaining blind-spot and rear cross-traffic collision warnings as well as rear parking sensors and power-folding mirrors with puddle lights.
The Cadenza comes in Premium, Technology, and Limited trims. No matter which trim you choose, the Cadenza offers a 3.3-liter V6 rated at 290 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque paired with an 8-speed automatic, and the driver can choose between Comfort, Eco, Sport, and Smart driving modes. Only front-wheel drive (FWD) is available, and the Cadenza will manage 20 mpg city, 27 highway, and 23 combined.
Inside, all Cadenzas get leather seats, automatic climate control, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen nestled in the dash, while available options include a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen with navigation, a panoramic moonroof, and a Harman Kardon stereo. The Technology trim adds numerous active safety features plus wireless-device charging and cooled seats, while the range-topping Cadenza Limited gets a suede headliner, head-up display (HUD), surround-view camera, and Nappa leather seats. Both Technology and Limited trims also get a power leg bolster feature that gives better leg support for tall drivers. The Cadenza also has a good amount of cargo space, 16 cubic feet.
In crash testing, the Cadenza earned Top Safety Pick status from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Safety options on the Premium trim include blind-spot monitors, while the Technology trim adds adaptive cruise control and forward-collision warnings with automatic emergency braking.
For buyers who prefer value and maximum performance, the Cadenza is a luxury sedan is a worthy choice. It goes up against other sedans like the Toyota Avalon and the Nissan Maxima.
