How much does the 2019 Hyundai Sonata cost?

Is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes — the 4.56/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners most often praise its excellent fuel economy, spacious interior, smooth ride, and broad feature content, which fits a midsize sedan that is meant to be comfortable, practical, and well equipped for the money. That makes it especially appealing if you want a roomy daily driver with a lot of technology without moving up to a pricier class. With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a generally positive ownership experience, with comments centered on dependable everyday use, good fuel economy, and a comfortable ride. Some owners mention minor issues, but the overall tone suggests the car can be a trouble-free choice when it has been maintained well. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure you avoid examples with unresolved mechanical or electrical issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

At 58.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you go any further. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on the engine, electronics, and any signs of uneven wear or poor repairs. Focus on overall condition and maintenance quality, because those factors matter more when a sizable share of the market has prior damage history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,596 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,661, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $12,661 sits slightly below last year's $14,105.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible to used buyers, which can help you get in at a lower cost today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history rather than just model-year appeal. Well-kept examples should hold up better than average because shoppers still respond to the Sonata's value, comfort, and equipment mix.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $11,864, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $12,661 average.
• It offers a roomy cabin and strong value with a broad range of powertrain choices.

The bottom line: If you want the better balance of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and market availability, the 2019 is the stronger default choice. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2018 is the better value-oriented alternative, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
