How much does the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 13.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,787 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.85/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its value, safety features, comfort, spacious interior, and ride quality. That lines up well with its use case as a two-row crossover that sits between compact and midsize SUVs, giving you more presence than a typical compact without stepping up to a larger family hauler.

The market also looks reasonably shopper-friendly, with 35.8% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling crossover with strong value, comfort, and a solid overall ownership experience, even though some drivers mention occasional reliability concerns, particularly with the battery. The driving impression also supports that sense of durability, with composed road manners and a well-connected feel that suggests it can be a reassuring daily driver.

Hyundai also emphasizes practical ownership with a straightforward, easy-to-use package, which helps reduce day-to-day frustration. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure any battery-related or other wear-and-tear issues have been addressed before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 73% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on condition details that matter most in a family crossover: bodywork consistency, interior wear, electronics, and signs of deferred maintenance.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE trim gets 17-inch alloy wheels, high-beam assist, power heated side mirrors, LED daytime running lights, manual seats, and remote keyless entry, while higher trims add features like fog lights, heated front seats, push-button start, parking sensors, rear-occupant alert, dual automatic climate control, a premium audio system, full LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, leather seating, memory settings, heated rear seats, and ventilated front seats.
• Powertrain: All trims use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, while the Limited and Ultimate can be had with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder making 235 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. The base engine is described as sluggish, while the turbo is the stronger choice.
• Safety package: Hyundai Smart Sense includes forward-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and rear cross-path detection. Safe Exit Assist is also standard.
• Infotainment: The base setup includes a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, a USB port, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. SEL and above add satellite radio, HD Radio, and BlueLink with Alexa integration, while the Ultimate gets an 8-inch touchscreen, a head-up display, and wireless charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive 2.4-liter version is rated at 22 mpg city, 29 highway, 25 combined. The all-wheel-drive turbo version is rated at 19 mpg city, 24 highway, 21 combined.

Which 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and a lot of standard equipment, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Hyundai Smart Sense safety tech.
• SEL: This is the better everyday comfort choice, adding heated front seats, push-button start, fog lights, and an 8-way power driver’s seat.
• SEL Plus: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it bridges the gap with 18-inch wheels, parking sensors, rear-occupant alert, dual-zone climate control, and a 630-watt Infinity audio system.
• Limited: This trim is the step into a more premium feel, with full LED lighting, leather seating, a panoramic sunroof, and the available turbo engine.
• Ultimate: This is the fully loaded choice, adding the larger touchscreen, head-up display, wireless charging, memory seats, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, and rain-sensing wipers.

Safety equipment is broadly standard across the lineup, so your trim decision mostly comes down to how much comfort, audio, and convenience gear you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,787 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,925, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $14,925 sits slightly below last year's $17,195.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help you if you buy now and hold it for a while. If you later sell, the fact that values have softened may limit upside in the near term, but it also means you may be entering at a more favorable point than buyers did a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai Smart Sense is standard, and it includes forward-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, and rear cross-path detection. Safe Exit Assist is also standard, which helps prevent rear passengers from opening doors into oncoming traffic.

That broad standard safety suite is a major strength, especially if you are comparing trims and want strong protection without paying for a top model. The main caveat is that you should still verify the exact equipment on any used listing, since condition and prior damage matter just as much as the original feature set.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers a strong value mix of size, safety features, and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,383, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $14,925 average.
• It is a bargain-focused, safe, roomy family crossover.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $16,756, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $14,925 average.
• It adds useful updates like a rear-seat reminder and a camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, safety, and modern features, the 2019 is the sweet spot to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2018 can save you money, while the 2020 makes sense if you want the newer updates and are willing to pay more.
