How much does the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 12.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,811 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.85/5 user-rated SUV with an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its value, safety features, comfort, spacious interior, and ride quality. That lines up well with its role as a practical crossover that sits between compact and midsize SUVs, giving you a useful middle ground if you want everyday usability without moving up to a larger vehicle.

The market also shows 38.0% good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable, with repeated praise for value, comfort, and the kind of ownership experience you can count on. The expert evaluation also emphasizes solid value and composed driving, which supports the case for a well-rounded long-term choice.

You should still pay close attention to maintenance history and battery-related concerns, since those are the kinds of issues that can affect used ownership risk over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 73.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and wear match the mileage and asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base SE trim comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, high-beam assist, power heated side mirrors, LED daytime running lights, manual seats, and remote keyless entry, while higher trims add features like fog lights, power adjustment, heated front seats, push-button start, parking sensors, rear-occupant alert, dual automatic climate control, a premium sound system, full LED lighting, a panoramic sunroof, leather seating, rain-sensing wipers, memory settings, heated rear seats, and ventilated front seats.
• Powertrain: All trims use a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, while the Limited and Ultimate can be had with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder making 235 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque; the base engine is described as sluggish, while the turbo is praised for strong acceleration.
• Safety package: Hyundai Smart Sense includes forward-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear cross-path detection, and Safe Exit Assist System; these features are standard, which is a major strength.
• Infotainment: The base SE gets a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, a USB port, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, while SEL and above add satellite radio, HD Radio, and BlueLink with Alexa integration; the Ultimate upgrades to an 8-inch touchscreen and adds a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive 2.4-liter version is rated at 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined, while the AWD turbo version is rated at 19 mpg city, 24 highway, and 21 combined.

Which 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe trim should I buy?

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe is offered in 5 trim levels: SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited, and Ultimate.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value pick, and it’s the trim CarGurus recommends if you want the most content for the money. You get standard safety and tech features, plus the core equipment that makes the Santa Fe appealing without stretching your budget.
• SEL: This is the step-up choice if you want a better daily-driver experience, thanks to heated front seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat, fog lights, and push-button start.
• SEL Plus: This is the best-value upgrade if you want a stronger mix of comfort and features, adding 18-inch wheels, parking sensors, rear-occupant alert, dual-zone climate control, and the 630-watt Infinity audio system.
• Limited: This trim is the right move if you want a more upscale feel, with full LED lighting, chrome exterior details, a panoramic sunroof, and leather seating.
• Ultimate: This is the top choice if you want the most equipment, including rain-sensing wipers, memory seats, heated rear seats, ventilated front seats, a head-up display, wireless charging, and the larger 8-inch touchscreen.

The standard safety suite is a major advantage across the lineup, so even the lower trims give you strong protection and driver-assistance coverage.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,811 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.92% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $14,907, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $14,907 sits slightly below last year's $17,117.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable point in the cycle. For a future seller, that also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice than on broad market momentum alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe safe?

The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe earns Top Safety Pick recognition from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai Smart Sense is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward-collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear cross-path detection, and Safe Exit Assist System. That standard equipment is a major strength, especially because it gives you a broad safety net even on lower trims.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 38.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It offers strong value, standard safety tech, and a useful size that sits between compact and midsize SUVs.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,357, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $14,907 average.
• It emphasizes safety, roominess, and dependability.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $16,645, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $14,907 average.
• It adds a standard rear-seat reminder and an available camera-based Blind-Spot View Monitor.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, safety, and comfort, the 2019 is the smart default. If your priority is spending less, the 2018 is the budget-friendly alternative; if you want newer features and can pay more, the 2020 is the upgrade path.
