Used 2019 Honda Insight for Sale nearRaleigh, NC

How much does the 2019 Honda Insight cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 182 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2019 Honda Insight a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Honda Insight earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

The Insight’s appeal is rooted in being a practical, affordable, and efficient compact hybrid with a traditional four-door sedan layout, plus plenty of interior and trunk space. It is also described as more attractive than the Civic on which it is based, which helps it feel like a conventional everyday car rather than a niche hybrid experiment.

30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Honda Insight reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Insight is presented as a straightforward hybrid that you gas up and drive, with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, an electric drive motor, and a lithium-ion battery. Its hybrid system is described as lively, and the regenerative brakes avoid the usual stickiness associated with hybrids.

The car also gets credit for smooth, refined driver-assistance behavior and strong structural protection, and the Touring trim includes a free 12-month Honda Link Security trial with automatic collision notification and SOS emergency calling. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s appeal depends on staying efficient and comfortable despite the road, wind, and CVT noise that can wear on you over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Honda Insight?

At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in any collision or shows signs of uneven wear. Focus on overall condition, because the Insight’s value proposition depends on a clean, well-kept example that still feels efficient, quiet enough, and easy to live with.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX is the simplest version, while EX and Touring add LaneWatch for the right-side blind spot, and Touring brings the most comfort and convenience equipment, including leather power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, fog lights, a 10-speaker premium sound system, navigation with real-time traffic, and Honda Link subscription services with a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Powertrain: The Insight uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, an electric drive motor, a lithium-ion battery, and an electronic continuously variable transmission. It is a traditional hybrid, not a plug-in, and it offers Econ and EV modes for low-speed driving. The LX and EX are rated at 52 mpg in combined driving, while the Touring is rated at 48 mpg.
• Safety package: Every Insight includes a reversing camera, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. EX and Touring add LaneWatch, which shows the right-side blind spot on the infotainment screen.
• Infotainment: The Insight has an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voicemail playback, text messaging support, and easy Bluetooth pairing. Touring adds Honda Link Security, Honda Link Remote, and an available AT&T Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The LX and EX are rated at 52 mpg in combined driving, while the Touring is rated at 48 mpg. In testing, the Touring averaged 38.9 mpg on a mountainous loop.

Which 2019 Honda Insight trim should I buy?

The 2019 Honda Insight is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, EX, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value play if you want the Insight’s core hybrid efficiency and standard safety tech without paying for extras. It keeps the car focused on the basics and is the most efficient trim in the lineup.
• EX: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds LaneWatch while keeping the stronger efficiency rating of the lighter trims. If you want a more complete daily driver without stepping all the way up to the Touring, this is the one to target.
• Touring: This is the most fully equipped version, with leather power-adjustable seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a power sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, fog lights, a premium audio system, navigation, Honda Link services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Choose it if you want the most comfort and tech.

Every trim includes the core safety suite, and EX and Touring add LaneWatch.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda Insight?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find reasonable options.

• Deal availability: 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 182 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,110, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Honda Insight's resale value?

The current average of $16,995 sits slightly above last year's $16,833.

That small increase suggests the market has stayed relatively stable, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. A steady price pattern usually means buyers still see value in the car’s mix of efficiency, practicality, and conventional sedan packaging.

Because the Insight is positioned as a practical hybrid rather than a novelty vehicle, its resale strength should depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it has been maintained. Clean examples with strong equipment and a good history should remain easier to move than rougher cars with accident records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Honda Insight safe?

The 2019 Honda Insight is a Top Safety Pick Plus according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, and it gets top marks in every single assessment.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Insight comes with a reversing camera, automatic high-beam headlights, adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. EX and Touring trims add LaneWatch, which uses a camera to show the right-side blind spot, though it does not provide a traditional rear cross-traffic alert system.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Insight or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 Insight stands out as a redesigned, traditional four-door hybrid sedan with plenty of interior and trunk space, plus strong safety performance.

The bottom line: If you want the most straightforward version of the Insight’s hybrid formula, the 2019 is the right place to start because it combines practicality, efficiency, and strong safety in a conventional sedan package. If you are especially price-sensitive, focus on the lower end of the market and compare condition closely, since accident history and trim differences can matter a lot on a used hybrid.
