The expert evaluation also emphasizes that Genesis includes a 5-year/60,000-mile warranty and 3 years or 36,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership worry. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t absorbed hidden wear from spirited driving.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Genesis G70?

At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a close inspection of bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair. It’s also smart to focus on the condition of the drivetrain, brakes, tires, and interior wear, since this model is often bought for its performance and premium feel. If possible, test the car on a route that lets you evaluate acceleration, steering, and braking smoothness.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The G70’s cabin emphasizes padded materials, aluminum trim, tight panel gaps, and contrast stitching, while the base setup also uses infotainment and instrument-panel hardware lifted from lower-priced Hyundai and Kia models.
• Powertrain: The turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 252 hp and 260 lb-ft, while the available 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 brings 365 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. RWD is standard, AWD is optional on all trims, and the manual is not available with AWD.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, a driver’s knee airbag, and auto high beams come standard. The IIHS rated the G70 as a Top Safety Pick+.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and the car also includes a wireless charging pad, Genesis Connected services, voice recognition, a head-up display, and 360-degree cameras.
• Fuel efficiency: The G70 is EPA-estimated at 18 to 22 mpg city, 25 to 30 mpg highway, and 20 to 25 mpg combined.

Which 2019 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Genesis G70 is offered in 2 trim levels: 2.0T and 3.3T.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0T: This is the value play if you want the G70’s luxury feel, standard safety tech, and balanced driving character without stepping up to the pricier V6. It still gives you the core appeal of the car, including the premium cabin, standard driver-assistance features, and the 252-hp turbo four.
• 3.3T: This is the one to choose if you want the strongest performance and the most complete version of the G70’s personality. The V6 adds 365 horsepower, more performance hardware, and the kind of thrust that best matches the car’s sporty chassis.

The safety package is strong across the lineup, with forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, and adaptive cruise control standard on all models.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Genesis G70?

The market looks moderately favorable if you’re a selective buyer.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 205 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.15% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,463, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $19,463 sits slightly below last year's $20,962.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you can reduce the impact of that softer market. The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2019 Genesis G70 earns a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, a driver’s knee airbag, and auto high beams come standard. The IIHS result is especially strong because it reflects top ratings across every test, including headlight performance and front-crash prevention.

Should I buy a 2019 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 stands out as the first all-new, ground-up Genesis design, which gives it a more complete and purpose-built feel.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,630, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $19,463 average.
• It adds a more special, notice-me personality with a stronger emphasis on style and individuality.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and solid deal availability. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for a slightly newer model, the 2020 is the better secondary path for shoppers who want a more distinctive feel.
