How much does the 2019 Genesis G70 cost?

Is the 2019 Genesis G70 a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Genesis G70 earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its luxurious feel, sporty performance, great acceleration, handling, and abundance of standard features. The overview also frames it as a distinctive compact luxury sedan that blends upscale appeal with real driving enjoyment, which helps explain why it stands out to shoppers who want something less familiar than the usual luxury nameplates.

With 30.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have a decent chance of finding strong value in the market.

Is the 2019 Genesis G70 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable and trouble-free enough to inspire confidence, with buyers repeatedly highlighting its strong value and the sense that it’s a car you can count on. The expert evaluation also supports that impression by describing the G70 as well behaved and smooth, even when it’s delivering strong performance.

Genesis also includes 3 years or 36,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, which helps reduce early ownership friction. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure prior maintenance and wear items were handled consistently before you take over.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Genesis G70?

At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and any signs of prior bodywork or cosmetic repair, since the market includes a meaningful number of cars with accident history. It’s also smart to pay close attention to how the cabin electronics, tires, and brakes present, because those are the kinds of areas that can separate a clean example from a merely average one.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is upscale, but some infotainment and instrument-panel elements are lifted from lower-priced Hyundai and Kia models, so base-trim buyers should pay attention to whether the equipment level feels complete enough for them.
• Powertrain: The turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 252 hp and 260 lb-ft, while the available 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 brings much stronger thrust and more performance hardware.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, a driver’s knee airbag, and auto high beams come standard.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with a wireless charging pad, Genesis Connected services, and a 360-degree camera system.
• Fuel efficiency: The G70 is EPA-estimated at 18 to 22 mpg city, 25 to 30 mpg highway, and 20 to 25 mpg combined.

Which 2019 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Genesis G70 is offered in 4 trim levels: 2.0T, 2.0T Sport, 3.3T, 3.3T Sport.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0T: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core G70 experience with the standard turbo 2.0-liter engine, rear-wheel drive, and the full standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and still care about luxury features and standard equipment.
• 2.0T Sport: This trim adds a sportier setup than the base 2.0T, making it the better pick if you want a more engaging feel without jumping to the V6. It’s the best-value choice for many shoppers because it balances price and character.
• 3.3T: This is the trim to choose if you want the stronger twin-turbo V6 and the more serious performance hardware that comes with it. It’s the right fit if acceleration matters most.
• 3.3T Sport: This is the most performance-focused version, adding the sport-oriented equipment and tuning that suit buyers who want the sharpest driving experience in the lineup.

The standard safety package includes forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, a driver’s knee airbag, and auto high beams.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Genesis G70?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and deal activity to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 228 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.93% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,607, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $19,717 sits slightly below last year's $21,415.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to preserve value than someone who pays too close to the top of the range. The relatively soft pricing also means future depreciation may be less painful than it would be on a newer purchase.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2019 G70 has not yet been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rated it a Top Safety Pick+, its highest award, for scoring the top ratings in every test, including headlight performance and front-crash prevention.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, and adaptive cruise control come standard on all models. A driver’s knee airbag and auto high beams are also included.

Should I buy a 2019 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.93% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It’s the first all-new, ground-up Genesis design and feels surprisingly strong against compact luxury rivals.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,337, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $19,717 average.
• It adds a more noticeable, special-car feel with quilted stitching and a luxurious cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2019 is the smarter starting point because pricing has softened and the car already delivers strong luxury, performance, and safety. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for a slightly newer example with a more distinctive cabin impression, the 2020 is worth a look.

How does the 2019 Genesis G70 compare to the 2019 BMW 3 Series?

Our experts score the 2019 Genesis G70 8/10 and the 2019 BMW 3 Series 8.2/10.

The Genesis gives you a lower average used price and a stronger value story, while the BMW brings slightly better fuel economy and a larger pool of listings. The G70 also stands out for its standard equipment and upscale feel, while the 3 Series edges it on expert score and efficiency. If you want the more distinctive bargain, the Genesis is compelling; if you want the slightly more polished benchmark, the BMW has the edge.
