For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the car was maintained properly and not worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Genesis G70?

At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been driven hard or modified. Focus on overall condition, service records, and signs of wear that could affect long-term ownership costs.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin emphasizes padded materials, aluminum trim, tight panel gaps, and contrast stitching, while the base setup also carries over some lower-priced Hyundai and Kia switchgear and screens.
• Powertrain: The turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 252 hp and 260 lb-ft, while the available 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 adds much stronger thrust and more performance hardware.
• Safety package: Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, adaptive cruise control, a driver’s knee airbag, and auto high beams come standard.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with a wireless charging pad, Genesis Connected services, and a 360-degree camera system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is EPA-estimated at 18 to 22 mpg city, 25 to 30 mpg highway, and 20 to 25 mpg combined.

Which 2019 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Genesis G70 is offered in 2 trim levels: 2.0T and 3.3T.

Here's the short version:

• 2.0T: This is the value play if you want the G70’s luxury feel, standard safety equipment, and strong everyday performance without paying for the V6. It’s the better fit if you care more about price and standard features than maximum speed.
• 3.3T: This is the one to choose if you want the G70 at its most rewarding, with the stronger twin-turbo V6 and the richer performance character that best matches the car’s sporty mission.

The standard safety package is broad across the lineup, so you do not need to move up trims just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 223 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.24% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,592, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $19,592 sits slightly below last year's $21,122.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the car more attractive to you as a buyer but less favorable if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you may be able to limit depreciation pressure. The model’s strong reputation for value and owner satisfaction should help support demand over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2019 G70 has not yet been rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) rated it a Top Safety Pick+, its highest award.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Forward emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, a driver-attention monitor, and adaptive cruise control come standard on all models. A driver’s knee airbag and auto high beams are also included.

Should I buy a 2019 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 stands out as the first all-new, ground-up Genesis design, giving it a distinctive place in the lineup.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $20,269, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $19,592 average.
• It adds a more noticeable, characterful presence with a luxurious cabin and quilted stitching.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the stronger buy because prices have softened and the model still delivers a premium feel with strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for a newer example with a slightly fresher presentation, the 2020 is worth a look.
