Is the 2019 GMC Canyon a good car?

Yes — 4.67/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Drivers consistently praise its stylish, comfortable cabin, easy driving and parking, and smooth power delivery, while also noting its useful feature set. The Canyon’s midsize-truck format makes it a practical fit if you want something easier to manage than a full-size pickup without giving up everyday versatility. With 35.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2019 GMC Canyon reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in daily use, with owners highlighting its comfortable ride, smooth performance, and feature-rich cabin. That kind of feedback suggests the Canyon can be a solid choice if you want a used truck you can count on for regular commuting, errands, and light-duty hauling. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific truck you choose has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by harder use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 GMC Canyon?

At 69.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, frame, suspension, and interior condition, since those areas can reveal whether a truck has been used hard or repaired poorly. It also makes sense to focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence, because the best used Canyon is the one that feels well cared for rather than simply the cheapest listing.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

• Deal availability: 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 701 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.94% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 69.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,442, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $23,721 sits slightly below last year's $24,953.

That price movement suggests the Canyon has softened enough to create a better entry point for you as a buyer, but it also means future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If you buy well now and keep the truck in strong condition, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation losses later. The model’s broad appeal as a comfortable, upscale midsize pickup should help support demand, especially for cleaner examples with good equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 35.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.94% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a smart choice if you want a midsize truck with strong owner satisfaction, a softer price than last year, and enough inventory to shop selectively. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby model years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than chasing the lowest sticker price alone.
