How much does the 2019 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,825 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.77/5 user-rated SUV with an expert score of 7.33/10. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise the Edge for its performance, comfort, and features, and they also call out the spacious interior and strong power. That lines up well with the Edge’s role as a midsize, two-row SUV built for family hauling, commuting, and long trips.

The mixed feedback matters too: some owners mention sluggish acceleration and missing conveniences such as automatic side mirrors. Even so, the Edge’s roomy cabin and practical layout make it a strong fit if you want everyday usefulness with a broader personality than a typical family crossover.

With 32.3% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, especially because reviewers repeatedly mention performance, comfort, and features in a positive way. The expert evaluation also says the EcoBoost 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder “gets the job done and won’t let you down,” which reinforces the sense that the standard powertrain is built for dependable daily use.

Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite and the available Sync 3 setup also suggest a well-rounded ownership experience, and the available convenience and comfort features help the Edge feel less barebones in daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is more about finding a well-kept example than worrying about the model’s basic ability to serve reliably.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Edge?

At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from repaired ones, then prioritize a careful inspection of body panels, paint consistency, and signs of prior collision work. You should also focus on how the cabin and electronics feel in person, since the Edge’s dated interior and feature mix can vary a lot by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, push-button start, and rain-sensing wipers, while the SEL adds black roof rails, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Titanium adds 19-inch alloy wheels, standard leather upholstery, wireless charging, remote start, and a Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker premium sound system, while the ST adds a blacked-out grille, front lip and side skirts, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, and an upgraded exhaust system.
• Powertrain: Non-ST trims use a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic and front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive. The ST uses a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft, paired with the same 8-speed automatic and AWD only.
• Safety package: Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available above the SE and adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane-centering.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 4.2-inch non-touchscreen display with USB, WiFi hotspot, streaming music, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. An 8-inch Sync 3 system is available on the SEL and standard on the Titanium and ST, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-liter with front-wheel drive returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The Edge ST returns 19/26/21.

Which 2019 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it’s also the most stripped-down version, with the basic 4.2-inch infotainment setup and the least upscale cabin presentation. It makes sense only if you’re focused on the lowest price and can live without the nicer tech and comfort upgrades.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. It adds the features most shoppers will actually notice day to day, including dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and it can be upgraded with useful packages that bring leather upholstery, heated front seats, remote start, a hands-free liftgate, and wireless charging.
• Titanium: This is the choice if you want a more premium feel without going all the way to the ST. It makes leather upholstery, wireless charging, and remote start standard, and it adds the upgraded Bang & Olufsen audio system.
• ST: This is the performance-focused trim. It brings the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, AWD, sportier exterior details, and a more aggressive driving character, but it also pushes the price much higher than the rest of the lineup.

The SEL is the trim CarGurus recommends as the most well-rounded choice, and the standard Co-Pilot360 safety suite is a strong plus across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,825 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.69% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,038, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $15,038 sits slightly below last year's $16,468.

That decline suggests the Edge has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you’re buying now and planning to own for a while. For a future seller, it also means the market is currently valuing this model year more conservatively than it did a year ago, so condition and equipment will matter a lot when it’s time to resell.

If you keep mileage reasonable and maintain the vehicle well, you’ll be in a better position to stand out from the many listings competing on price. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge safe?

The Ford Edge earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The Edge comes standard with Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite, which includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. You also get a reversing camera, traction control, and a full set of front- and side-impact airbags as standard equipment.

If you want more advanced driver assistance, the available Co-Pilot360 Assist+ package adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane-centering. That package is available above the SE, so trim choice affects how much safety tech you can get.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 brings a facelift, standard Co-Pilot360 safety tech, and an available ST trim that adds real performance character.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $16,647, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $15,038 average.
• It adds a more polished, better-equipped feel with updated standard tech and safety.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a broad mix of practical features. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer example with a slightly fresher presentation, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative for price-insensitive shoppers.
