How much does the 2019 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,778 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Ford Edge earns a 4.77/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its performance, comfort, and features, and they also call out the spacious interior and strong power. That lines up with the Edge’s use case as a midsize, two-row SUV built for families and long trips, where backseat room and cargo space matter most.

The market also shows 31.4% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling SUV with strong power, comfort, and features, and it also highlights the roomy cabin as a reason people like living with it. The expert review says the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine “gets the job done and won’t let you down,” which reinforces the Edge’s everyday dependability.

Ford also notes that the SEL can be equipped with useful convenience features, including remote start and a hands-free power liftgate, which can make ownership easier. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some examples may have been used hard or may show age-related wear, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Edge?

At 74.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage example. Focus on signs of prior body damage, uneven panel gaps, worn interior surfaces, and any evidence that features or electronics don’t work as they should.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, push-button start, and rain-sensing wipers, while the SEL adds black roof rails, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Titanium adds 19-inch alloy wheels and standard leather upholstery, wireless charging, remote start, and a premium sound system, while the ST adds a blacked-out grille, 20-inch wheels, an upgraded exhaust, leather seating, and ambient lighting.
• Powertrain: Non-ST trims use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic and available all-wheel drive. The ST uses a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 with 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, also paired with an 8-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on trims above the SE and adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane-centering.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 4.2-inch non-touchscreen display with USB, WiFi hotspot, streaming music, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. An 8-inch Sync 3 system is available on the SEL and standard on the Titanium and ST, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-liter with front-wheel drive returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, and 25 combined. The ST returns 19/26/21.

Which 2019 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but it feels the most basic because the infotainment setup is a small 4.2-inch non-touchscreen and the cabin is described as dated. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and can live without the nicer tech and comfort upgrades.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. It adds the features most buyers will notice day to day, including dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and it can be optioned with useful packages that bring leather, heated seats, remote start, a hands-free liftgate, and the better infotainment system.
• Titanium: This trim is for you if you want a more upscale Edge without going all the way to the ST. It makes leather, wireless charging, remote start, and the premium sound system standard, and it also gets the 8-inch Sync 3 setup.
• ST: This is the performance choice. It adds the 2.7-liter turbo V6, all-wheel drive, sportier styling, and performance-focused hardware, so it suits you best if acceleration and driving character matter more than value.

Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite is standard, and Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on trims above the SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,778 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.71% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,217, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $15,217 sits slightly below last year's $16,670.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you can reduce the impact of that depreciation. The Edge’s broad family-SUV appeal still helps support demand, especially for shoppers who want space and comfort over flash.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge safe?

The 2019 Ford Edge earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with a reversing camera, traction control, a full complement of front- and side-impact airbags, and Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite. That suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

If you want more advanced assistance, Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane-centering on trims above the SE. That makes the Edge a strong safety pick, especially if you shop for a trim that includes the available driver-assistance upgrade.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 adds a facelift, a sportier look, and an ST trim that brings real performance.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $16,772, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $15,217 average.
• It adds a more up-to-date, well-equipped feel with stronger emphasis on standard tech and safety.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and the feature set is still strong. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a slightly fresher overall package, the 2020 is the better secondary path.
