How much does the 2019 Ford Edge cost?

Prices have softened 8.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,818 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Ford Edge earns a 4.77/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its performance, comfort, and features, and they also call out the spacious interior and strong power. That lines up well with its role as a midsize, two-row SUV built for everyday family use, backseat room, and cargo space. The available ST trim also broadens its appeal if you want a more athletic driving experience alongside the usual commuting and hauling duties.

The market shows 33.3% good or great deals, which points to a reasonably buyer-friendly shopping environment.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge reliable?

Owners rate it 4.77/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for performance, comfort, and features. Reviewers also highlight the strong power and roomy cabin, which are the kinds of traits that usually support confidence over time. The expert evaluation also describes the non-ST engine as one that “gets the job done and won’t let you down,” reinforcing the sense that the Edge is built to be counted on.

Ford’s maintenance and ownership pitch also helps, since the model’s equipment and usability are framed as practical for everyday use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about finding a well-kept example that hasn’t been worn down by age, mileage, or neglected upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Edge?

At 73.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle-history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the features you care about actually work as advertised. Because this model year mixes strong practicality with some dated interior materials, condition matters a lot when you’re comparing examples.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, push-button start, and rain-sensing wipers, while the SEL adds black roof rails, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Titanium adds 19-inch alloy wheels, standard leather upholstery, wireless charging, remote start, and a Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker premium sound system. The ST adds blacked-out styling, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, an upgraded exhaust system, leather seating, ambient lighting, and available heated and cooled front seats plus heated rear seats.
• Powertrain: Non-ST trims use a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic and available AWD. The ST uses a 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 with 335 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, also paired with an 8-speed automatic and AWD only. The base 2.0-liter with FWD returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, 25 combined, while the ST returns 19/26/21.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard and includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on trims above the SE and adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane-centering.
• Infotainment: The base system uses a 4.2-inch non-touchscreen with USB, WiFi hotspot, streaming music, Bluetooth, and voice recognition. An 8-inch Sync 3 system is available on the SEL and standard on the Titanium and ST, and it adds Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration.
• Fuel efficiency: The base 2.0-liter with FWD returns 22 mpg city, 29 highway, 25 combined, while the ST returns 19/26/21.

Which 2019 Ford Edge trim should I buy?

The 2019 Ford Edge is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, Titanium, and ST.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the entry point, but its 4.2-inch infotainment setup feels basic, and the content points to underwhelming tech and connectivity here. It makes sense only if you want the lowest starting price and can live with the simplest equipment.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim. It adds useful everyday upgrades like dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable front seats, rear parking sensors, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and it can be optioned with the 8-inch Sync 3 system and other desirable features. It also lines up with the recommendation that this trim is the most well-rounded choice.
• Titanium: This trim is for you if you want more luxury built in, including standard leather upholstery, wireless charging, remote start, and the premium Bang & Olufsen audio system. It’s the most comfort-focused non-ST choice.
• ST: This is the performance pick. It brings the 2.7-liter V6, AWD, stronger acceleration, sportier styling, and a more aggressive character, but it also pushes the price much higher than the SEL.

Ford’s safety suite is standard across the lineup, and Co-Pilot360 Assist+ is available on trims above the SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Edge?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,818 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,070, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Edge's resale value?

The current average of $15,070 sits slightly below last year's $16,516.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that this model year is currently priced in a softer market, so holding value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability. Well-equipped examples with strong maintenance records should fare better than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Ford Edge safe?

The 2019 Ford Edge earns a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS and five-star ratings from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it includes automatic emergency braking, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, automatic high-beams, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. If you want more advanced assistance, Co-Pilot360 Assist+ adds adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, evasive steering assist, and lane-centering on trims above the SE.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Edge or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 adds a facelift and the ST trim, giving you updated styling and a performance-oriented option.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $16,725, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $15,070 average.
• It adds a more contemporary-feeling package of standard tech and safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and broad practicality. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative for shoppers who want the next step up in freshness.
