Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its performance, especially the Duramax diesel, and they also highlight its towing and hauling capability as major strengths. Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback describes it as dependable and capable, and many owners say they can count on it for towing and hauling. That kind of repeat confidence matters if you plan to keep a used heavy-duty truck for the long haul.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is making sure a hardworking truck has been maintained well enough to stay trouble-free over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean trucks from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the frame, suspension, brakes, and towing-related wear, since those areas matter most on a heavy-duty pickup. It also helps to focus on overall condition and maintenance records, especially if the truck was used for frequent hauling or work duty.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

If you find a listing below $33,797, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $33,797 sits slightly below last year's $34,723.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays steady. For a seller, the key advantage is that this model still has broad appeal among buyers who want heavy-duty capability and strong towing performance. Well-kept examples should remain easier to move than trucks with accident history or visible wear.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 72.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,511, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $33,797 average.
• It offers a more do-it-all setup with broader modern convenience.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a more expansive feature set, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.
