How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD cost?

Prices have softened 4.70% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,055 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its performance, especially the Duramax Diesel engine, and they also describe it as dependable and capable for towing and hauling. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a heavy-duty truck that balances work-ready utility with a more refined, tech-forward cabin. With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe it as dependable, and the feedback also points to a truck that feels capable and trouble-free in everyday use. The recurring praise for towing, hauling, and long-term confidence suggests this model year can be a solid choice if you want a heavy-duty truck you can count on. For used buyers, that still means you should verify maintenance history carefully, since long-term ownership risk depends heavily on how the truck was used and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

At 73.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who knows heavy-duty trucks. Focus on signs of hard use, especially around towing-related wear, suspension condition, and overall maintenance consistency. If a truck looks especially clean but has incomplete records, treat that as a reason to dig deeper rather than move faster.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting a deep bargain on every listing.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,055 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.70% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $33,151, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $33,151 sits slightly below last year's $34,787.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited unless the truck is especially well kept. If you plan to sell later, condition, mileage, and maintenance history will matter a lot because buyers in this segment tend to reward clean, well-documented trucks. Strong demand for capable heavy-duty pickups can still support value, especially when the truck has the right equipment and a solid ownership record.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $38,429, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $33,151 average.
• It adds a more do-it-all, feature-rich approach to heavy-duty truck capability.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want the better value and a strong mix of capability, owner satisfaction, and market availability. If you are less price-sensitive and want to spend more for a newer model with a broader feature-forward appeal, the 2020 is the secondary path to consider.
