How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox cost?

There are 5,693 listings available, which suggests you should have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and good fuel economy. Reviewers also highlight the powerful engine and the features that improve day-to-day driving.

For you, that means the Equinox makes the most sense if you want a practical compact SUV with a comfortable feel and useful everyday capability. It is especially appealing if you value a roomy cabin and easy commuting over a more exciting driving experience.

32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reviewers describe it as a vehicle they can count on for a smooth, trouble-free ownership experience, with dependable everyday performance and strong long-term appeal. The feedback also points to solid reliability in the way owners use it over time.

The Equinox’s powertrain is described as a practical, everyday setup, and the overall impression is that it should serve you well if you keep up with routine maintenance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing a well-kept example with the right equipment and condition.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

At 62.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Pay close attention to bodywork, lighting, and any signs that the vehicle has been repaired after a collision.

Because some desirable equipment is tied to higher trims or packages, it is worth confirming exactly what is installed on the specific vehicle you are considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base L trim is special-order only and lacks a spare tire, a compass, and most paint choices, while the LS adds those basics back but still leaves you short on features. The LT is the real starting point if you want a more usable mix of equipment, and the Premier is where the advanced safety features begin to show up.
• Powertrain: You get a 1.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque on the L and LS, plus available 1.6-liter turbodiesel and 2.0-liter turbocharged options on higher trims. The 1.5-liter is efficient but underpowered, while the 2.0-liter is the strongest choice if you want more passing power.
• Safety package: The available driver-assistance suite includes adaptive cruise, forward-collision warning, and pedestrian detection with auto braking. Blind-spot monitoring is only optional on the LT and not standard until the Premier, so you should verify whether the features you want are actually present.
• Infotainment: The updated system includes an 8-inch touchscreen on equipped versions, plus standard Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The system is easy to use, and the HD camera upgrades are a meaningful improvement for visibility.
• Fuel efficiency: The 1.5-liter engine is rated at 26 mpg city and 32 mpg highway with FWD, while the 2.0-liter turbo in AWD form is rated at 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway.

Which 2019 Chevrolet Equinox trim should I buy?

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox is offered in 4 trim levels: L, LS, LT, Premier.

Here's the short version:

• L: This trim is too stripped down for most used buyers because it is special-order only and lacks basics like a spare tire and compass. It is best avoided unless price is your only concern.
• LS: This is the real entry point, but it still feels sparse for the money. It makes sense only if you want the lowest-cost path into the Equinox and can live without many extras.
• LT: This is the best-value trim because it opens the door to the more desirable equipment, including the updated infotainment and available camera and lighting upgrades. If you want the sweet spot between price and content, this is the one to target.
• Premier: This is the trim to choose if you want the most complete safety and convenience package, including the advanced driver-assistance features that are unavailable lower down. It is the right pick if you are willing to pay more for the most fully equipped Equinox.

Blind-spot monitoring is only optional on the LT and not standard until the Premier, so check each listing carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Equinox?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to make comparison shopping worthwhile.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 5,693 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.06% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,672, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $13,672 sits slightly below last year's $15,371.

That decline suggests the Equinox has moved into a more buyer-friendly pricing zone, which can help you on the front end but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you should be better positioned to protect value than someone who pays near the top of the range.

The market is also signaling that shoppers still see enough utility and comfort here to keep demand steady. That matters because a practical SUV with broad appeal tends to remain easier to move later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Equinox safe?

The 2019 Chevrolet Equinox earns top marks in both IIHS and government testing.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety story is strong, but there are important caveats. The headlights on lower trims and upper trims both receive a Marginal IIHS rating, and blind-spot monitoring is not standard until the Premier trim. Advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise and pedestrian detection with auto braking are available only as an expensive package on the top trims.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.06% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 adds HD rear-view and surround-view cameras plus an updated infotainment system.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $12,124, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $13,672 average.
• The redesign made it smaller and more directly competitive in the compact SUV segment.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $15,084, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $13,672 average.
• It adds standard advanced safety features and easier-to-use technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and updated equipment, the 2019 is the smart middle ground. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2018 can save you money, while the 2020 is the better choice if you want a more complete safety and tech package.
