How much does the 2019 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 10.54% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,365 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 BMW 5 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its blend of sportiness and luxury, along with the fun-to-drive feel and well-designed cabin. The tech also stands out, especially the intuitive interface and heads-up display, while the 5 Series format still gives you a midsize luxury sedan that balances comfort, performance, and everyday usability. With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 BMW 5 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a car that many drivers find dependable in daily use, with praise centered on a trouble-free ownership experience and confidence over the long term. That said, used luxury sedans can carry higher repair and maintenance exposure as they age, so you should still pay close attention to service history and overall condition before buying.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 BMW 5 Series?

At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report on every candidate and prioritize listings with clean records and documented maintenance. A pre-purchase inspection is especially important on a luxury sedan like this, since condition, prior repairs, and electronic features can matter as much as mileage. Focus on signs of bodywork, uneven panel gaps, warning lights, and whether the tech and driver-assist features work as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 BMW 5 Series?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re willing to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,365 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.54% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,911, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $19,911 sits slightly below last year's $22,257.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale upside may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the key is to preserve value through clean history, strong maintenance records, and desirable equipment. Well-kept examples should still attract attention because this model year has strong owner satisfaction and broad shopper appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.54% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $18,181, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $19,911 average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid option that broadens the lineup with a more efficiency-minded choice.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around value proposition, the 2019 is the better primary target because it combines a lower current average price with strong owner satisfaction and a healthy pool of listings. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2018 is the better secondary path, especially if you want to save money and are open to its efficiency-focused appeal.
