How much does the 2019 BMW 5 Series cost?

Prices have softened 8.13% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,362 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2019 BMW 5 Series a good car?

Yes — the 4.89/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the blend of sportiness and luxury, the fun-to-drive feel, and the well-designed cabin, while the intuitive interface and heads-up display also stand out. For you, that makes this a strong fit if you want a midsize luxury sedan that still feels engaging rather than purely soft-riding. With 38.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s also meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 BMW 5 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.89/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on a trouble-free ownership experience, strong long-term appeal, and a sense that it’s a car you can count on. That kind of feedback matters most if you plan to keep the car for years rather than just a short stint. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the rating itself and more about making sure the specific car you choose has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 BMW 5 Series?

At 63.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on the suspension, electronics, and interior condition, since those areas can affect ownership satisfaction the most. Focus on overall condition and documentation, because a well-kept example is likely to be the better long-term buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 BMW 5 Series?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,362 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.13% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,363, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 BMW 5 Series's resale value?

The current average of $20,549 sits slightly below last year's $22,367.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. If you later sell, the softer pricing trend may limit upside compared with a stronger market, so condition and mileage will matter even more. Well-kept examples should still hold buyer interest because this model has broad appeal among shoppers who want a luxury sedan with a sporty edge.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 BMW 5 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.13% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $18,348, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $20,549 average.
• It adds a plug-in hybrid option for efficiency-minded buyers.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around balance of owner satisfaction, current pricing, and market availability, the 2019 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2018 is the smarter secondary path, especially if you value the plug-in hybrid angle and can live with an older model year.
