CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Audi Q7

Summary
With 147 currently listed for sale and an average price of $16,995, 27.9% of 2019 Audi Q7 listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Audi Q7 4.71 / 5 stars.

Why it stands out
The 2019 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends Audi’s clean design with a practical, pavement-focused character. It offers comfortable front and second-row seating, and its cabin has the upscale feel buyers expect from the brand. Owners also praise the interior quality and comfort, along with the Q7’s excellent ride quality, which helps explain why it remains appealing to shoppers looking for a refined family SUV.
For 2019, the Q7’s strongest case is its balance of performance and utility. The turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 is the better engine choice, and it also brings 7,700 pounds of towing capacity. The Q7’s cargo space is useful for a three-row SUV, with 14.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 37.5 cubic feet with that row folded, and 69.6 cubic feet at maximum. It also already had digital instrumentation and, with the Navigation Plus package, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
There are tradeoffs, though. The third row is small and best left for children, and the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder does not provide enough power and has unimpressive fuel economy. Like other Q7s, this one also requires premium fuel, and maintenance and repair costs can be high. Even so, the 2019 Audi Q7 remains distinctive for buyers who want a comfortable, well-finished, and capable luxury SUV with strong towing ability and a polished driving experience.

Reviewed a 2019 Audi Q7 on Mar 5, 2020
Have driven everything over the last five decades, Benz, Lexi, BMW & Audi. Plus all the domestics, Mazda & Nissan as well. Have had a 1st Gen Q7 TDI for the last four years and loved it. However, the 2nd Gen (& 2020) Q7 really is the best of all worlds in terms of the SUV experience. Best ergonomics, MMI & interior quality in its class (or any class for that matter). Adequate performance for a daily driver (SQ for sub 5 second adrenaline junkies), and an unparalleled ride quality at speed. Understanding that there are high quality designs from everyone these days (its a great time to buy an automobile), there remains a creme de la creme segment in terms of design & quality. My informed opinion is that Audi retains its lead in this segment, albeit narrowly, and the Q7 is the best definition of SUV you will find anywhere.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for the Q7’s comfort, quality, and overall ability to meet expectations. That kind of response suggests the vehicle can be a reassuring choice if you value a well-finished SUV that owners feel good about living with over time. At 74.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should run a vehicle history report on any Q7 you’re seriously considering and confirm whether it has accident, title, or service issues. Put a pre-purchase inspection near the top of your checklist, especially for suspension, electronics, and signs of uneven wear. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since a well-kept example is more likely to deliver the refined ownership experience you want.

What is the 2019 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $18,514 sits slightly below last year's $21,569.
That decline suggests the market has become more favorable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own a Q7 and plan to sell later, keeping mileage, condition, and service history in strong shape will matter more when the market is softer. Well-maintained examples should still attract interest from shoppers looking for a refined three-row luxury SUV.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 36.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 74.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 14.17% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $24,014, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,514 average.
- It brings a thorough refresh to styling, interior, powertrain, and technology.
The bottom line: Choose the 2019 if you want the better value and are comfortable shopping carefully for condition and history. Consider the 2020 if you want the newer redesign and are willing to pay more for the update. If price matters most, the 2019 is the smarter starting point; if you want the latest version, the 2020 is the upgrade path.
