What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Audi A6?

At 69% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any accident history or a long option list. Pay close attention to cabin condition, electronics, and the operation of the driver-assistance features, since this model leans heavily on technology. It’s also smart to confirm that the trim and package content match the listing, because the more advanced safety and convenience features are concentrated in higher trims.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Premium Plus is the recommended value pick because it adds Audi Virtual Cockpit, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, a larger 10.1-inch navigation display, and a surround-view camera with Virtual 360 technology. Premium is the entry point, while Prestige adds more upscale equipment and the most advanced available features.
• Powertrain: The A6 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 335 horsepower, paired with a 7-speed S tronic automated manual transmission and Quattro Ultra all-wheel drive. It also uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that helps conserve fuel by recovering energy while coasting and braking.
• Safety package: Pre Sense systems are standard up front and available for the rear of the car. With the Driver Assistance Package on Premium Plus or Prestige, you get adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist and turn assist, active lane assist with emergency assist, intersection assistant, and traffic-sign recognition. Prestige also adds HD Matrix LED headlights with automatic high-beam activation, while the night-vision assistant with pedestrian detection is exclusive to Prestige.
• Infotainment: The A6 uses two touchscreen displays with haptic feedback, quick response, and a 10.1-inch upper display for navigation. It also includes Audi Virtual Cockpit, a surround-view camera with 360 Virtual View technology, and natural-voice recognition.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review cites 22.9 mpg on a test loop and notes an EPA expectation of 25 mpg.

Which 2019 Audi A6 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Audi A6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry trim, but the available data shows the most compelling equipment and safety content moving up the lineup, so it makes the most sense if you’re focused on getting into the A6 at the lowest price and can live without the richer tech and driver-assistance content.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim. It adds Audi Virtual Cockpit, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, a larger 10.1-inch navigation display, and a surround-view camera with Virtual 360 technology, and it’s also the trim where the more advanced driver-assistance package becomes available.
• Prestige: Choose this if you want the most complete version of the A6. It adds HD Matrix LED headlights with automatic high-beam activation and unlocks the optional night-vision assistant with pedestrian detection, making it the right pick if you want the fullest safety and luxury feature set.

Audi reserves the more unusual and sophisticated driver-assistance systems for Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels.

What is the 2019 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $21,169 sits slightly below last year's $24,317.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you’ll be better positioned to protect value later. The A6’s strong owner satisfaction and premium reputation should help support demand, but the recent price softening means future sellers may need to stay competitive.
