What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Audi A6?

At 68.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any accident history or a long option list. Pay close attention to the condition of the cabin electronics, driver-assistance features, and suspension behavior, since this model leans heavily on technology and refinement. It’s also smart to compare trim equipment carefully so you know which features are standard and which were reserved for higher trims.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Premium Plus is the recommended value choice because it adds Audi Virtual Cockpit, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, a larger 10.1-inch navigation display, and a surround-view camera with Virtual 360 technology, while Premium and Prestige sit below and above it in the lineup.
• Powertrain: The A6 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 335 horsepower, paired with a 7-speed S tronic automated manual transmission and Quattro Ultra all-wheel drive. It also uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that helps reduce fuel use and supports smoother stop-start operation.
• Safety package: Audi’s driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems include Pre Sense up front, with rear Pre Sense available, and the Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist and turn assist, active lane assist with emergency assist, intersection assistant, and traffic-sign recognition. Some of the more unusual and sophisticated features are reserved for Premium Plus and Prestige, and Prestige adds HD Matrix LED headlights plus the optional night-vision assistant with pedestrian detection.
• Infotainment: The A6 uses two touchscreen displays, Audi’s latest MMI system, a 10.1-inch navigation display, wireless-style smartphone-friendly interaction through its modern interface, and Audi Virtual Cockpit. It also supports a surround-view camera with 360 Virtual View technology and strong voice-recognition capability.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review cites 22.9 mpg on a test loop and notes an EPA expectation of 25 mpg.

Which 2019 Audi A6 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Audi A6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry point, and it gives you the redesigned A6 experience without stretching into higher-priced extras. It suits you if you want the new styling, the core powertrain, and the modern cabin without paying for the most advanced convenience and driver-assistance upgrades.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim. It adds the features most shoppers are likely to want, including Audi Virtual Cockpit, the Bang & Olufsen audio system, the larger 10.1-inch navigation display, and the surround-view camera with Virtual 360 technology. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to target.
• Prestige: This is the most fully equipped version and is the right pick if you want the most advanced lighting and available safety tech. It adds HD Matrix LED headlights and can be paired with the optional night-vision assistant with pedestrian detection, making it the trim to consider if you want the most upscale and tech-heavy A6.

Audi’s more unusual and sophisticated driver-assistance features are reserved for Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels.

If you find a listing below $21,056, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $21,056 sits slightly below last year's $24,416.

That price movement suggests the A6 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right price. For a seller, the current market indicates that value retention will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment level rather than on broad market appreciation. Well-kept examples with desirable features should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 38.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.76% compared with last year.
