What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Audi A6?

At 70.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has any accident history or a long option list. Focus on bodywork quality, panel alignment, and whether the advanced electronics and driver-assistance features operate as intended. Because this model leans heavily on technology, condition matters as much as mileage.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Premium Plus is the best-value recommendation because it adds Audi Virtual Cockpit, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, a larger 10.1-inch navigation display, and a surround-view camera with Virtual 360 technology. Premium is the entry point, while Prestige brings the most equipment and the most upscale presentation.
• Powertrain: The A6 uses a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 7-speed S tronic automated manual transmission and Quattro Ultra all-wheel drive. It also uses a 48-volt mild-hybrid system that helps conserve fuel and supports the car’s electronics.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package on Premium Plus and Prestige adds adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist and turn assist, active lane assist with emergency assist, intersection assistant, and traffic-sign recognition. Some of the more unusual and sophisticated systems are reserved for those higher trims.
• Infotainment: The A6 uses two touchscreen displays, Audi’s latest MMI system, a 10.1-inch navigation display, wireless-style haptic interaction, Google Earth imagery, handwriting recognition, and natural voice recognition. Audi Virtual Cockpit is a major highlight.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert test loop returned 22.9 mpg, and the EPA estimate cited was 25 mpg.

Which 2019 Audi A6 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Audi A6 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the entry trim, but the available information suggests the A6’s biggest strengths are its tech, luxury feel, and sophisticated drivetrain, so this trim makes sense if you want the redesigned A6 experience at the lowest starting point.
• Premium Plus: This is the best-value trim. It adds Audi Virtual Cockpit, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, a larger 10.1-inch navigation display, and a surround-view camera with Virtual 360 technology, giving you most of the features you’re likely to want without paying for extras you may not need.
• Prestige: This is the most fully equipped version and is the right pick if you want the most upscale A6 experience. It can be paired with the adaptive damping suspension and adds HD Matrix LED headlights with automatic high-beam activation, while the optional night-vision assistant with pedestrian detection is exclusive to this trim.

The more unusual and sophisticated driver-assistance features are reserved for Premium Plus and Prestige, so those trims are the ones to target if safety tech matters most to you.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Audi A6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 589 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.26% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,347, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $21,347 sits slightly below last year's $24,610.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price now, you reduce the chance of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The A6’s premium positioning and strong tech appeal can still support demand, but future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.89/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Audi A6 safe?

Audi offers a long list of driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems, with the more unusual and sophisticated features reserved for Premium Plus and Prestige trim levels. Pre Sense systems are standard up front and available for the rear, and the Driver Assistance Package adds adaptive cruise control with traffic-jam assist and turn assist, active lane assist with emergency assist, intersection assistant, and traffic-sign recognition. Prestige trim also adds HD Matrix LED headlights with automatic high-beam activation, while the optional night-vision assistant with pedestrian detection is exclusive to Prestige.

Should I buy a 2019 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.89/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned 2019 A6 brings a new MMI setup, a light-electrified powertrain, and more sophisticated driver-assistance technology.

The bottom line: If you want the most modern-feeling version of this generation’s A6, the 2019 is the one to target. It gives you the redesigned cabin, strong tech, and a compelling luxury-sedan package at a softer price than it carried a year ago. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can still shop nearby years, but the 2019 stands out as the cleaner choice for buyers who want the updated experience.
