The RLX is Acura’s largest and most opulent sedan. It arrived in 2014 and received a major refresh in 2018. It carries over for 2019.

Every RLX includes a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 310 horsepower and 272 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters sends power to the front wheels, although all-wheel steering keeps handling in line. Thanks to variable cylinder management and a few other tricks, the RLX pulls off a respectable 20 mpg city, 29 highway, and 23 combined.

The RLX comes in a single trim that includes 19-inch alloy wheels, keyless access and start, LED headlights, 3-zone climate control, heated front seats, ambient cabin lighting, a 14-speaker audio system, a power moonroof, 12-way power seats, perforated leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and satellite radio.

On the safety front, every RLX bundles forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, road-departure mitigation, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, a multi-view camera, and adaptive cruise control. The RLX achieved a 5-star overall rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Good scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
