What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Acura RDX?

At 71.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings at similar prices. Focus on condition, equipment level, and whether the infotainment system and driver-assistance features work the way you expect. Because some desirable features were bundled into packages, it’s worth checking the exact equipment on each listing before you commit.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base RDX already comes well equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, Jewel Eye LED headlights, LED fog and taillights, a power liftgate, a power panoramic moonroof, leather upholstery, heated 12-way power front seats, dual-zone climate control, remote keyless entry with push-button start, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Technology Package adds perforated Milano leather, GPS-linked climate control, voice recognition, a premium audio system, navigation with real-time traffic, and extra driver-assistance features. The A-Spec Package adds dark 20-inch wheels, gloss-black exterior accents, unique bumpers, ventilated front seats, red ambient lighting, and upgraded audio. The Advance Package adds 16-way front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, wood trim, a head-up display, surround-view camera, and a reversing camera washer.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine with 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is available. The AWD system is torque-vectoring and can send power rearward for better traction and more agile handling.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard and includes forward-collision warning, forward-collision avoidance, lane-departure warning, road-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. The Technology Package adds front and rear parking sensors plus blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The Advance Package adds a head-up warning system.
• Infotainment: The RDX uses a 10.2-inch HD monitor with Acura’s True Touchpad infotainment system. It includes Bluetooth, HD Radio, two front USB ports, and Apple CarPlay, but no Android Auto.
• Fuel efficiency: The front-wheel-drive model returns 22 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 24 mpg combined. The AWD version returns 21 mpg city, 27 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined.

Which 2019 Acura RDX trim should I buy?

The 2019 Acura RDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Base RDX, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• Base RDX: This is the best-value starting point if you want the core RDX experience without stretching your budget. You still get the strong standard equipment list, the turbocharged engine, AcuraWatch, and the 10.2-inch infotainment display, but you miss out on the extra convenience, audio, and driver-assistance upgrades found higher up.
• Technology Package: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of features and value. It adds navigation, a premium audio system, extra USB charging, upgraded leather, and more driver-assistance tech, making it the most compelling step up for many shoppers.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you care most about style and a sportier cabin presentation. It adds unique exterior treatment, larger wheels, ventilated front seats, upgraded audio, and distinctive interior details, but it is more about appearance and ambiance than a major mechanical upgrade.
• Advance Package: This is the right pick if you want the most comfort and convenience features. It adds the most upscale seating and visibility tech, including a head-up display and surround-view camera, but it will usually make the most sense for buyers who want the fullest luxury experience.

The Technology Package is the best-value trim for most used shoppers, while the Advance Package is the most complete choice if you want the most premium equipment. AcuraWatch is standard, and the Technology Package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

That softer pricing trend suggests the RDX has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to stay competitive on condition and equipment. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of preserving value by choosing a clean, well-optioned example with strong service history. The market still appears to reward the RDX’s combination of comfort, style, and broad appeal.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Acura RDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 brings a complete redesign with a stronger turbo engine, more space, and a more upscale cabin.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $24,445, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $22,625 average.
• It carries over the redesigned third-generation RDX with the same basic formula and broader value story.

The bottom line: If you want the better bargain, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it delivers the redesigned RDX experience at a lower average price. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year listing, the 2020 is the secondary path, but the 2019 already captures the core strengths that make this RDX appealing.
