How much does the 2019 Acura MDX cost?

Prices have softened 8.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,323 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Acura MDX earns a 4.44/5 user rating and an 8/10 expert rating, which points to broad owner satisfaction and strong overall evaluation.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, reliable performance, and the V6 engine. The MDX also gets credit for its luxurious features, which fits its role as a midsize three-row luxury crossover with everyday family usefulness.

That said, the MDX is best for you if you want a proven luxury SUV that balances comfort, space, and usability more than cutting-edge tech. It is not the right pick if you want the most modern-feeling infotainment experience or the most upscale cabin in the class.

38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is meaningful room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.44/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe the MDX as reliable and praise its dependable, trouble-free character, with several noting that it is a vehicle they can count on over the long term. The expert evaluation also points to a proven, familiar SUV that has benefited from steady improvement over time.

The ownership picture is helped by the fact that Acura includes a free 90-day trial of connected services, and scheduled maintenance visits are presented as quick and convenient. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about core durability and more about whether the vehicle was maintained well and whether its technology and safety equipment still suit your needs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Acura MDX?

At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible cosmetic wear. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the electronics and driver-assistance features work as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The A-Spec Package adds a more aggressive appearance, red leather and black Alcantara upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, and unique interior and exterior styling touches. The Advance Package adds adaptive damping suspension, while the Technology Package is the trim to target if you want blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Powertrain: The standard setup is a 3.5-liter V6 with 290 horsepower and 267 lb-ft of torque paired with a 9-speed automatic. SH-AWD is the better choice if you want torque-vectoring all-wheel drive and sharper handling.
• Safety package: AcuraWatch is standard on all trims and includes the brand’s core driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert require the Technology Package.
• Infotainment: The MDX uses dual screens, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and voice recognition, but the screens are small and the system can be frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard MDX is rated at 21 mpg in combined driving, and the Sport Hybrid returns much better city fuel economy.

Which 2019 Acura MDX trim should I buy?

The 2019 Acura MDX is offered in 4 trim levels: Base, Technology Package, A-Spec Package, Advance Package.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point if you want the MDX’s core strengths at the lowest price, including the V6, AcuraWatch, and the basic luxury crossover formula. It makes sense if you care more about value than extra convenience or appearance upgrades.
• Technology Package: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the blind-spot monitoring system and rear cross-traffic alert that many buyers will want in a family SUV. It also builds on the MDX’s comfort and tech features without pushing the price as high as the more style-focused trims.
• A-Spec Package: Choose this if you want the sportier look, the red leather and black Alcantara interior, and the required SH-AWD system. It is the right pick if appearance and driving feel matter more to you than pure value.
• Advance Package: This is the trim to consider if you want the adaptive damping suspension and a more comfort-oriented setup. It suits you best if you want the most polished ride and are willing to pay more for it.

The Technology Package is the trim most buyers should start with because it adds the most important safety equipment without overcomplicating the MDX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Acura MDX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,323 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 64.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,265, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $21,265 sits slightly below last year's $23,283.

That price decline suggests the MDX has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you keep the vehicle in clean condition and maintain it well, you may be better positioned than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The market also shows that buyers still respond to the MDX’s mix of space, comfort, and reliability. That kind of broad appeal can help support resale demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.44/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Acura MDX safe?

The 2019 Acura MDX earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a strong crash-test reputation overall.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

AcuraWatch is standard on all MDX trims and covers the brand’s core driver-assistance and collision-avoidance systems. You still need the Technology Package to get blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, so base-trim shoppers should factor that into their decision.

The main caveat is that IIHS downgraded the MDX from its earlier Top Safety Pick+ standing because of Acceptable headlight performance and child-seat anchor accessibility. Acura’s Jewel Eye LED headlights are strong, but the adaptive cruise control and related AcuraWatch functions can feel less refined than newer systems.

Should I buy a 2019 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 38.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 64.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.44/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 update improves interior materials and transmission behavior.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $23,960, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $21,265 average.
• It adds a stronger emphasis on standard advanced safety and family-friendly practicality.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction and a proven feature set. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model year, the 2020 is the cleaner alternative, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2019 and look for a well-kept example with the right safety package.
