How much does the 2018 Volvo XC90 cost?

Is the 2018 Volvo XC90 a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its exceptional safety features, luxurious interior, and strong performance, and many also appreciate its reliability. For you, that makes it a compelling choice if you want a luxury midsize SUV with family-friendly practicality, a sophisticated cabin, and three-row versatility. The market also shows 38.1% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Volvo XC90 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability alongside its safety and luxury appeal, and many owners describe the XC90 as a vehicle they can count on. That said, you should still expect the ownership profile of a European luxury SUV, so a careful inspection matters if you want to reduce long-term repair risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Volvo XC90?

At 71.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you commit. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on body condition, electronics, and any signs of prior repair work, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. It also helps to compare wear across the interior and exterior so you can judge whether the vehicle has been maintained consistently.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Volvo XC90?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,083 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.27% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 71.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,787, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Volvo XC90's resale value?

The current average of $16,787 sits slightly below last year's $18,919.

That price movement suggests the XC90 has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if the market stabilizes. If you buy at a favorable price now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned when it’s time to resell. Demand should also be helped by the model’s strong owner satisfaction and premium family-SUV appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Volvo XC90 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 38.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 71.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of value and owner satisfaction, the 2018 is the primary year to target because pricing has eased and the model still earns strong feedback from owners. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can widen your search to nearby years and compare condition, accident history, and listing price closely before deciding.
