Is the 2018 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its fun driving experience, strong performance, excellent handling, and accessible power, which makes it appealing whether you want an engaging daily driver or something more spirited on back roads. The WRX’s practical sport compact setup and standard all-wheel drive also fit well if you want everyday usability with an enthusiast edge. Is the 2018 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback emphasizes that the WRX is fun to drive, delivers strong performance, and feels capable in everyday use, which supports the case for dependable ownership when the car has been maintained well. The combination of standard all-wheel drive and a reputation for accessible power also suggests a car that many owners feel confident living with over time. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about how hard it may have been driven and how well it was cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru WRX?

At 56.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven enthusiastically. Focus your condition check on signs of wear that could reflect harder use, because the best used WRX is usually the one with the clearest maintenance and accident history.

What is the 2018 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $17,406 sits slightly below last year's $17,897.

That softer pricing suggests the WRX has become a bit more accessible for buyers, which can also shape what future sellers should expect if the market stays steady. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned to preserve value than someone who pays near the top of the range. Demand should remain supported by the model’s enthusiast appeal and practical all-wheel-drive setup.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
