Why it stands out
The 2018 Subaru Outback is a well-regarded midsize crossover SUV that excels in providing a balanced blend of utility, comfort, and safety. As one of the original crossovers on the market, it continues to stand out with its standard all-wheel drive and ample ground clearance, offering excellent capabilities for both daily commuting and off-road adventures. Owners appreciate its smooth ride, robust safety features, and generous cargo space—attributes essential for families or active lifestyles. The Outback is particularly praised for its safety ratings, receiving outstanding marks from agencies like the IIHS. Additionally, technological improvements, such as the updated Starlink infotainment system, enhance user experience with its faster response and better functionality. However, some drivers have expressed concerns regarding engine power and interior lighting, suggesting that while the Outback remains a top performer, there is room for refinement. Overall, the 2018 Outback remains an appealing option for those looking for a reliable, safe, and versatile vehicle.

Call me biased, but I don’t see why everyone doesn’t go for this car. Meets all my needs and it’s reliable, relatively affordable, and sleek looking, what more could I want

I came from a 2009 Nissan Murano SL AWD. This outback has so many fancy features! I love the blind spot monitors, the automatic braking, adaptive cruise, lane detection, etc. Only things Im missing from my Murano are my toe hitch, my 6 CD changer, and buttons in the truck to lift the back seats for me.

I bought the Premium model as a replacement for my 2012 Outback. My 2018 has navigation and moon roof. Car is awesome. Drives and shifts more smoothly than the older one. Not that much acceleration getting on the freeway but adequate. I like all the safety features (blind spot detection, back up camera, lane detection, etc.). Ill be keeping this car until self-driving cars are the standard.
