Why it stands out
The 2018 Subaru Outback continues to excel as a reliable crossover SUV, maintaining its status with its robust all-wheel-drive capability and user-friendly design. One of its key strengths is its spacious interior, which efficiently accommodates both passengers and cargo, boasting 35.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats and a generous 73.3 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. This versatility is underscored by the Outback's commitment to safety, achieving 5-star ratings from federal safety evaluations and being recognized as a Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS, thanks to advanced safety features like the EyeSight suite of driver-assistance technologies.
For 2018, the Outback also showcases improvements in ride quality and cabin comfort, with updated materials and a quieter interior. Its technology enhancements meet modern standards, featuring a competitive Starlink infotainment system that comes with a larger display and improved interfaces. While some users note that the engine can feel underpowered, especially in the base model, the available V6 option provides a more spirited driving experience. Overall, the Outback remains an exceptional choice for buyers looking for a capable, family-friendly SUV that can navigate various terrains while ensuring passenger safety and comfort.

Call me biased, but I don’t see why everyone doesn’t go for this car. Meets all my needs and it’s reliable, relatively affordable, and sleek looking, what more could I want

I bought the Premium model as a replacement for my 2012 Outback. My 2018 has navigation and moon roof. Car is awesome. Drives and shifts more smoothly than the older one. Not that much acceleration getting on the freeway but adequate. I like all the safety features (blind spot detection, back up camera, lane detection, etc.). Ill be keeping this car until self-driving cars are the standard.

Just bought a 2018 Outback Touring. It is quiet, smooth ride, the V6 has the power that V4 versions lack, which means I would never buy the smaller engine. Love the larger screen on the navigation system. The safety features actually saved us money on our auto insurance and we are paying less for the 2018 Outback than the 2012 Accord V6 we own. The visibility is another great aspect of the Outback. Getting into and out of the Outback is much easier with its higher clearance. While I have only had it a short time, I have really enjoyed driving it and look forward to learning about all the new features available.
