How much does the 2018 RAM 2500 cost?

Is the 2018 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.61/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, power, and towing capacity, and many highlight the Cummins engine for its strong pulling ability. The 2018 model year also fits buyers who want a heavy-duty truck that feels more refined, with an upscale interior and useful tech like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a standard backup camera. Is the 2018 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.61/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary points to reliability as one of the truck’s strengths, alongside power and towing confidence. Owners also describe the Cummins engine as dependable for heavy-duty use and long-term pulling duty. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about how hard a specific truck was worked and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 RAM 2500?

At 67.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean trucks from those with collision records or repeated claims. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on trucks that were used for towing, hauling, or commercial work. Focus on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and signs of heavy-duty wear rather than just mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,456 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.8% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $31,603, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $31,636 sits slightly below last year's $34,004.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also means future resale may depend heavily on how well the truck is equipped and maintained. Trucks with strong demand, clean history, and desirable capability tend to hold attention better when the market cools. Because this model year still draws buyers who want serious towing strength and a more refined cabin, well-kept examples should remain easier to move than rougher ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.61/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.8% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.61/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $30,545, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $31,636 average.
• It offers a broad mix of trims and comfort features for work and family use.

The bottom line: Choose the 2018 if you want the stronger overall market position, better tech, and a model year that still feels modern for a heavy-duty truck. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2017 is the better value path, especially if you find one with a clean history and the right equipment.
