How much does the 2018 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 7.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 9,699 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2018 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.64/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the comfort, features, and value for money, while also highlighting the truck’s power and towing capability. The roomy cabin and upscale interior feel make it especially appealing if you want a full-size pickup that works well as both a daily driver and a family vehicle. With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2018 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.64/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also leans toward dependable everyday use, with praise centered on comfort, value, and the truck’s overall usefulness over time. That said, some reviewers mention occasional acceleration concerns, so you should pay close attention to how a used example drives and whether it has been consistently maintained. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is ending up with a truck that looks good on paper but has hidden wear or unresolved mechanical issues.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 RAM 1500?

At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on drivetrain behavior, suspension feel, and any signs of uneven wear or poor repair work. It also makes sense to prioritize cabin condition and feature operation, since comfort and interior quality are major reasons many shoppers choose this truck.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 9,699 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.72% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,057, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $20,057 sits slightly below last year's $21,735.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make resale timing more important if you plan to sell later. If values continue to soften, you may not recover as much as you would have a year ago. On the other hand, the truck’s strong owner satisfaction and broad appeal can help support demand when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.64/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.64/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $24,114, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $20,057 average.
• It adds a more refined, comfort-focused driving experience.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2018 is the stronger starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer truck and a more polished feel, the 2019 is the better secondary path.
