How much does the 2018 Nissan Rogue cost?

There are 3,435 listings available, which suggests you should have a solid range of choices.

Is the 2018 Nissan Rogue a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Nissan Rogue earns a 4.5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, smooth ride, and modern tech like CarPlay. The Rogue also fits well if you want a roomy, affordable compact crossover with broad everyday appeal and advanced driver support. With 32.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still meaningful market value to find.

Is the 2018 Nissan Rogue reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as comfortable, spacious, and good on safety, and they also highlight the smooth ride and modern tech as reasons they feel confident living with it. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the Rogue is built around everyday practicality and comfort, with a smooth-riding character that suits routine use.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is making sure the vehicle has been well maintained and carefully inspected, especially given the model’s age and the importance of condition in a used crossover.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Nissan Rogue?

At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing price looks unusually attractive. Focus on overall condition, signs of prior bodywork, and whether the vehicle’s equipment and wear match the mileage and asking price.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the most basic version, while the SL adds a more upscale interior with padded leather trim on the center console, armrests, and dash, plus ribbed stitching on the seat inserts. Lower-grade trims use coarser fabric and harder plastic, so you should pay close attention to material quality and equipment differences if you want a more premium feel.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a single 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission and either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The setup is tuned more for efficiency and comfort than quick acceleration.
• Safety package: ProPilot Assist is Nissan’s semi-autonomous driving system, and it works with adaptive cruise control to help steer on gentle highway curves. Blind-spot monitoring is standard, and Intelligent Trace Control is also standard. ProPilot Assist is only on the SL with both the Premium and Platinum packages.
• Infotainment: Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Nissan redesigned the infotainment system for 2018 with a more usable interface and a customizable home screen. The system also includes telematics features such as remote unlocking and automatic 911 notifications if the car has been in an accident.
• Fuel efficiency: FWD models are rated at 26 mpg city and 33 highway, while AWD models are rated at 25/32.

Which 2018 Nissan Rogue trim should I buy?

The 2018 Nissan Rogue is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SV, Midnight Edition, SL.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Rogue’s core value proposition at the lowest starting price. It makes sense if you want the most affordable way into the model and are comfortable with the simpler interior materials.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it sits in the sweet spot between price and equipment. The cost-effectiveness content points to well-equipped AWD SV models as the market sweet spot, so this is the trim to target if you want a balanced used buy.
• Midnight Edition: This is an SV with a blacked-out look, so you should choose it if appearance matters more to you than added capability. It’s mainly about style rather than a major equipment upgrade.
• SL: This is the most upscale trim, with the nicest interior materials and access to ProPilot Assist when equipped with both the Premium and Platinum packages. It suits you best if you want the most advanced tech and the most premium feel.

Blind-spot monitoring is standard, and ProPilot Assist is limited to the SL with both the Premium and Platinum packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Nissan Rogue?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,435 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.80% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 54.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,240, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Nissan Rogue's resale value?

The current average of $12,240 sits slightly below last year's $13,421.

That price movement suggests the Rogue has softened in the used market, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you can reduce the impact of that depreciation trend. Demand should remain supported by the Rogue’s comfort, practicality, and broad appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Nissan Rogue safe?

The 2018 Nissan Rogue earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS and a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with three-star front passenger frontal crash and four-star driver frontal crash ratings, plus five-star side crash ratings for all seat positions.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Blind-spot monitoring is standard, and Intelligent Trace Control is also standard. ProPilot Assist is available only on the SL with both the Premium and Platinum packages. The main caveat is that the front-impact NHTSA results are weaker than the side-crash results, so you should pay close attention to crash protection and driver-assistance equipment when comparing listings.

Should I buy a 2018 Nissan Rogue or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 54.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• For 2018, the Rogue adds automated driver assists that rival the best from luxury automakers.

The bottom line: If you want the Rogue’s strongest mix of comfort, tech, and value, the 2018 model is a sensible target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can shop carefully for a well-kept listing and still find good value, but you should prioritize condition and history because a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents.
